WMK worth it?

I have FWE, MMM etc installed but never went for WMK is it worth it?

 

Can you upgrade parts of the gun to produce more damage output?

Each mod might not add extra damage, but it is definitely worth it when you trick out your favorite gun. Exert from antistar's description:

 

Weapon Modification Kits - or 'Weapon Mod Kits' - allow you to use standard Workbenches to modify your favourite firearms with a range of handy attachments:

 

- Auto-Fire Mechanism (AF): Adds full-auto firing capability to most guns that do not have it otherwise (also increases weapon spread by around 50% and reduces weapon to 65% of its default accuracy in VATS).

- Extended Magazine/Clip (EC): Doubles magazine/clip capacity.

- Laser Sight (LS): Increases accuracy (reduces weapon spread by around 33% and increases weapon accuracy in VATS by 25%).

- Scope (SC): Can use scope to sight targets, increases range by 30%.

- Silencer (SI): Makes weapon silent, reduces damage and projectile speed (by around 10% each).

 

In addition, the loving attention bestowed upon your weapon during modification results in durability improvements. Each successive mod applied to a weapon increases its durability by 25% (of its base durability).

 

So yeah, I personally love this mod, wouldn't play without it. Make sure you apply the correct FOIP patch, too :smile:

None of the upgrades increase damage. Find his homepage and you'll find a pretty good article on his design process.

I don't agree with some of his choices, but he does have his reasons. :)

Hey, im having a problem with WMK. I have fwe installed, and when i modify a weapon, it does less damage. i checked to make sure by killing 1 guy with modded and un-modded weapons.

 

I have a merge patch and FOIP patch.

 

Please help. :)

I think WMK is definitely worth it. It's fun tricking out your weapon of choice, making it a signature sort of weapon. Also, in more hardcore mods (like FWE, but I use Arwen's Tweaks), honestly, salvaging a silencer from a Silenced 10 MM and selling it has kept me from starving on more than one occasion. Note that most weapon mods that do not specifically mention WMK are likely not going to be compatible (smaller mods, anyway. Not sure about FWE or FOOK2).

 

@Magmacow: Did you see the posts right before yours, or check the links? A silencer reduces damage (says it right there). Other weapon mod kits shouldn't do that, though--if that's the problem, then never mind me. ;)

I used the Extended clip Mod kit, but it applies for all weapons and all kits
