New Laptop recommendations

SO... Ive finally decided I am going to buy a new laptop since this freakin laptop has waaay too much problems.... Now, I want a good laptop. I no longer care for a gaming laptop though, I have an Xbox 360, a Wii, and a PS3, so I think im good on the gaming part... Lol. Since school is back, and my computer basically sucks, I need a new one so that I can work on my projects, reports, etc without worrying that my computer might crash at any moment.

 

I was kind of leaning towards buying a netbook-type laptop, or a Macbook. I dont really know which ones better, but I hear the macbooks are really great. Ive never owned a Mac my self, so I don't know if I should rely on the comments everyone has said about them. Now I need a laptop that has a decent hard drive, a decent video card, a good RAM, not too small, not too large, I also want one that is not very pricey. The most I am willing to spend is about 500 dollars... maybe 600. Do any of you recommend a good laptop suitable for projects, reports, internet, music, just the basic things everyone uses everyday? If so, please give me your recommendations. They are all helpful. Thanks.

Not a bad laptop for what it has.. and a respectable price.

Mac is great for lots of stuff....gaming not soo great.everything else.. it's not bad at all.. but MAcs don't come even CLOSE to cheap... surprisingly many of the new Intel Atom netbooks are becoming remarkably powerful. with Nvidia and ATI graphics chipsets. just go with what you want and what makes you feel comfortable.
