My native country has been under communist control ( Romania ) for a very long time (until 1990's). I dont know anything about russian history, but one thing I can tell you, communist isnt a good lifestyle. Max portions of food, outrageos bills, cant talk about the governament without risking a bulet in your head the next day... I now live in Canada, wich as you all know, has the United States of America as a neighboar. Ive been to USA once, and I can tell you that Capitalism is much much better. Sure, George Bush is an ass, but would he order his own army to fire on a crowd of civilians like the communist romanian president, Ceocescu, did?

As for the Global outlook. I have to point that half the americans dont know that in Canada, theyr neightboards, we speak both french and english. If you would go in a southern american country, and you tell a kid there ( assuming that he goes to school ) that your from Canada, he will ask if its from the French side or the English side. More than half the Americans dont even know who the Prime-Minister of Canada is. It is a sad thing for them to blame the Russian Federation for single events, until they know the history of a country. I will stay neutral in this debate.

Noy trying to sound rude, but why should all Americans know about Canada? Just because we are neighbored (sp?) doesnt mean we should know everything about them. Too bad i havent taken my World Cultures class yet. My History Teacher was in the Peace core and he was in South America for 2-5yrs or something like that and the they wanted him to teach english to the Children one thing he told us was that a student asked "why should we learn in English? Why learn a barbaric language? (then the student turned around and asked the class in spanish (didnt know enough english at the time)) " Do we want to learn from this Capitalist Pig?" He later saw this in a newspaper that was around the house of the family he was staying with that the paper said that the Americans were doing things that where untrue. I don't know the Prime minister of Canada is but there is no reason for me to know.

only from the battles of WWII, do I know the Russians, and the famous T-34 tank. They were tactical geniuses, I hold Russia in high regard.

other than that all I know is that U.S.S.R meant United Soviet Soveriegn (sp?) Republic

I would like to go to Stalingrad one day tho.

all i can say is that 90% of americans are naive, arrogant, and ignorant of what is really happening out there. I am from america, and i must say i like the land, but not the government or people. The government is corrupt, and the people are ignorant of the resources they are using up. Companies refuse to make more enviormantally safe products, for all they see is profits. As for knowlage of Russia, one of my friends is in the Russian navy, and has said it is now a nice place. As for the cold war, i do not know much, but it is behind us. I do know of Stalin though. I am a WWII fan, so i must say i know a bit about that era.

Oh Americas government isn't corrupt it's just that every polotician cares more about being president or being in the senate rather than serving the people (which just means their %&$!heads). and the people aren't ignorant it's just most of them are dumb lol (like most of the world), and the companies have nothing to do with America, what makes companies in Japan or other countrys any better?

90% of PEOPLE are naive, arrogant, and ignorant of what is really happening out there. America just ahppens to posesss a larger number of poeple in proportion to the general population and too many of them hold power. The problem with nay government is that any plan forumulated by the heads of state will not be applicable to hte populace and any plan forumated by the populace will not be implementable by hte heads of state. too muhc information is lost along teh way in the communicatio nchannels to make anythign work. There's either too much micromanagement or too little.
