Is a different default font possible...

Recommended Posts

I already know how to change the font of my own posts individually. I prefer Veranda to the Nexus default because I abhor any font that makes a lowercase "l" and an uppercase "I", appear identical. (At least this one makes the numeral "1" appear different. Some don't.)

(See, this is in the Nexus default: '... lowercase "l"... uppercase "I"... '

But is it possible to set "Veranda" as my default for composing posts in the Forums?

Thanks!

It would appear not to be possible =/

You might just have to change it yourself everytime you post if it bothers you that much.

Then again imagine what it would be like trying to read everyones posts who have different fonts...

Hello my name is bob

HI my name is bobby

It just does look a bit silly

and would also make the forum look untidy =/

Maybe that's why there isn't an option? Because if you can change the font, people will want different colours all the time and have it bold.

Then the forums will just become a swamp of untidy fonts and colours...

I agree that the default font can make some text appear identical but hey... If Dark0ne changed the nexus to fit the wants of every single member it would just crash =P

Just live with it, like I said, change it everytime you post if you bothers you that much.

Note that this changes the fonts for all webpages

For Firefox:

6th tab from the left: Extra/Tools

Lowest tab: Options

3rd Tab: Content

There you can select the type of font you'd like to see.

Then at Advanced you must uncheck the checkbox saying that pages may use their own font.

At Internet Explorer:

last tab, extra/tools

Lowest tab: Internet Options

Lower left tab: General

Fonts button: Change at willing.

Then after Ok, at Accessibility: hit the ignore specific fonts for webpages checkboxes (2nd/3rd)

For firefox there's an addon that's called Styles Tuner, which allows you to change fonts for specific websites.

It's the 101st (CSS) rule if you can't find it  (The thing you select will appear down below if you started the style-editor)
