Weapon Sizes

Hey I was just wondering if there were a way to resize the weapons. So that the short swords are actually short, and longswords do not look like two handed swords, and two handed swords are an appropriate size. And DAGGERS, since when is a Dragon Age dagger a dagger? The dagger in Dragon Age looks like it should be called a short sword.

I was just wondering if it were possible to altar the dimensions of the weapons.

it is but it might take a while.

DATool allows you to easily resize items and export the new mesh files, it would be technically feasible to create a huge override folder that covers all the original models... but like I said it would take quite a lot of time (because you have to resize and save each item individually) and there will probably be compatibility issues with any other mod that modifies the base weapons or any re-textures that use the base weapon models.

I would recommend just getting Adonnay's weapon replacer:

it makes all the swords and daggers look a lot better.

Not a problem at all, I hope that it helps you out :)

Now I will go ahead and mention that a lot of the DLC weapons can't be adjusted like that. Because thier files are locked out  You cant open them in the toolset to extract the ones that you need to run thru datool :( :verymad:

if you come across weapons in Mods that you want to edit for size, you will need to locate their files by going thru the install files and loading up .erf files in the toolset, and then extract the files that datool is asking for from the .erf files. Which really isnt very hard. It just means opening up about 6 or 7 different files in the toolset and doing the extraction.

Once you get the rythm down for resampling them, each one of the weapons takes about 2 minutes each, depending on how fast your computer is. So it shouldnt be more than a day or two's worth of work to do the majority of them, depending on how much time you can/want to devote to the task, per session.

Happy gaming! :)
