newbie needs help with fose

need help with fose- i tried installing the last version of FOSE but when i start the game it says fose has stopped working plus when im playing with fose i can save but when i load it loads the save i did before using fose. and also when im exiting fallout it says fallout 3 has stopped working.

other info: my fallout 3 folder is not on default, is on C:/games/bethesda/fallout 3- gfwl is disabled-i have goty edition so yes i have the latest patch

Basics please;

 

- is FO3 patched

- G4WL (Games for Windows Live) updated or removed (recommend remove)

- ini changes for multi-core CPU (if applicable)

- are you installed in the default directory and running Win7 or Vista - if so uninstall and reinstall UAC plays havoc with FO3 and mods if your installed in C:\Program Files......

- post your exact error from FOSE

3 im not sure what you mean but i never changed anything in those 2 ini files and everything always worked(except fose ofc)

4 its not on default its on C:/games/bethesda/fallout 3(vista)

5 its not an error it just says fallout script extender has stopped working just like when FO3 crashes

You HAVE been spamming double-posts like there's a double-post sale, mate.

 

Make sure of three things: One, that you know exactly where FOSE is installed. Two, that it's installed in the same place as the Fallout 3 exe. Three, that Vista hasn't decided to fsck things over by blocking access to FOSE.

 

When you install FOSE, you have to copy over everything - not just the .exe file. FOSE needs it all right there with it.
