Quinncent
Hi I'm new to PC gaming. I play Oblivion quite a lot but I want some mods. I don't currently have any mods, official or un-official. I have tried to download some but none of them are working. I have been told this is because I do not have a script extender. I have all of the official add on's and the game of the year edition. Many thanks.
bben46
Some, but not all mods require OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) It is available free here: http://obse.silverlock.org/Usually it will say if it requires it in the readme.Be sure to read the instructions for installing and running OBSE as it is not a mod and does not install like a mod. If a mod does not require it, it doesn't matter if it is installed or not. Mods that do not require OBSE will run just fine if it is installed. However, mods that do require it will not work at all and may crash your game if it is not present.
DarkNinja13
One thing I recommend getting is the Oblivion Mod Manager (OMM). It's great for running lots of mods at once and changing the load order of the mods if you have to do so.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097
