Crash Before Startup

You guys probably get a ton of these, and trust me I've tried near everything to get this to work so I didn't have to ask this noob question, but I've been working on it all day and I'm almost turned off to playing FO3 after dealing with this mod problem. I followed the recommended load order, and I believe I've pinned it down to (you guessed it) FOOK2. Everything has been updated, reorganized (even tried creating a merger patch and, assuming I did it right, that didn't work), reinstalled, and in between. Here's my load order:

I know this is a chore, but I've looked it up and down and don't see anything wrong with my load order. When I disable all of FOOK2 it works (haven't tried disabling pieces of FOOK2 at a time, but for how long it takes FO3 to boot, that would take all day) so I know that's at least part of the problem. Tried downloading FOOK2-FWE support, and that didn't fix it either. I would really like to use FOOK2 along with my other mods, but I don't know how to get this working right. Anyone brave enough to help me out with this situation?

Yep - couple of major problems;

- Your FOOK2 installation is hosed - you've got files left over from the original v1.0 (which is a bad thing) and your running (from the looks of it) the latest build (which is a good thing). Your never going to get a 'stable' game with that setup. Follow the instructions here: http://www.fookunity.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4212 Make SURE you follow them - yes their not very clear but if you don't bad things will happen (like your computer melting.... - sorry just kidding but I couldn't resist)

- You cannot run FWE and FOOK2 together - although some poor soul may tell you otherwise, they are not compatible, never have been never will. Their both major mods and are trying to do some of the same things. Pick one and one only then stick with it.

- Not sure if "Destruction" is compatible with the latest FOOK2 build but you should probably check over at the fookunity site.

- I don't see your merge patch in the load order - I would definetly use one with FOOK2.

- I can't prove it and as much as I like Enhanced Weather I personally think it can add to CTD's and load times. Especially when fast travelling and going in and out of buildings.

Personal recommendation:

- pick which mod your going to use (FWE or FOOK2)

- uninstall and reinstall FO3 (making sure to wipe all remnants and follow best practices - e.g. not default directory, ini changes, G4WL, etc, etc: http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html)

- install your mods

- enjoy

Note: It's my methodology and I can run for hours / days / weeks without any issues, I run FOOK2 and about 50 - 75 other mods depending on how I'm feeling.

Well, I did as asked and reinstalled, patched, put in mods (excluding FOOK2 and including a few extras) and now it starts up... But as soon as I leave the cabin during the alt start of FWE, it crashes.

Not sure what I did wrong THIS time. I even cut down on mods. I get to create my character and everything, but as soon as he exits the cabin it crashes. I'm going to try taking out some mods, but honestly I was hoping I didn't have to take anything out. Does it look like there's something wrong with the load order?

Bleh... Yeah, I just did a master update, and that had no effect. This makes no sense whatsoever! I've been sorting through the load order and I've just about given up on this... Been working on this for two days, I'd like to start playing it, haha!

EDIT: I found the issue. After sorting through them all, I finally got to disabling MMM. While MMM was disabled and everything else was on, it allowed me out of the cabin. Is FWE clashing with MMM? I thought the "MMM-Project Beauty + FWE" plugin was supposed to help bridge that issue? -sigh- At this rate I'll take FWE over MMM, but if there's a way to get them to work together I'll do it.

Well, I fixed that issue by loading without MMM, getting out of the cabin, and turning MMM back on and it worked. But guess what? To my startling surprise, most of the raiders I come across nearby are purple colored. Seeing as how there are either misplaced or missing textures, I took a look. Mind you, the only body replacer I have is the Dimonized raider females. But both male and female Raiders are purple, with only one or two exceptions, and inside the folders I saw there were textures in there for both. To top it all off, in the midst of fighting these Raiders my game would either crash, or the DarnUI help menu would come up and lock me out of playing (no matter how many times I hit "Ok" it wouldn't go away and I couldn't access the game menu). Honestly, I'm so fed up with this crap. I've been dealing with this problem for a long time and I'm sick of it... I wanted to get this working by tonight.

Hmm, I thought FWE had some MMM integration in it and you can control MMM through FWE menus - this may be your problem. I'd check out the FWE website https://sites.google.com/site/fo3wanderersedition/

and see if they have some recommendations - also check their compatibility list.

FWE does a lot of texture changes as well and it sounds like during the install something somewhere didn't come across.
