Elsweyr...

Oblivionmans

Recommended Posts

Elsweyr looks like one of the best mods ever, but for some reason, it won't work.

The only noticable thing that it changed is the selection of races "A couple of Kajiits".

So please help.

if it helps I do have the "TES Construction Set"

I actually have a hunch that it won't work because the of thing where you change the "bEnableBorderRegion=1" to a bEnableBorderRegion=0.

Which won't work either so plz help me.

Ps. This is for the mod: "Elsweyr: The Deserts of Arnequina.

EDIT: I am a beginer modder.

Why is this in the General Oblivion section and not on the Elsweyr mod page?

What do you mean disabling border regions won't work? Did you modify AND save it?

You have to install and activate the mod in your Oblivion Launcher, disable the borders in the .ini file and that's it.

Which .ini file did you edit? If you edited the one in your Data folder, that's why it didn't work.

You need to edit the .ini in the My Documents/My Games/Oblivion folder.

I think it's good you posted it here (actually it should have been in Mod Troublshooting but oh well...). If you'd posted on the Elsweyr mod page, nobody would have seen your post as it would be buried in comments by people who did get it to work.

Thanks, and yes I DID save it although I think i know what happened.

That file in my oblivion folder, it dosn't say that it's a .ini, it says its a configuration settings folder/document. I think i'll just experiment with other mods right now. And, just one more thing, for the first reply, It won't work, I don't know why but whenever I try the borders just stay there and never go away.

You can click on Tools - Folder Options - View - and uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". Then you'll see the file with .ini after it.

There's also this mod:

OMG Thank you so much!

I don't know how to thank you!

EDIT: But now to make it so that the towns show up...

Please help with this as well.

Ps. Sorry about all the requests.

What do you mean, "make it so the towns show up"? You mean you can't see them until you get close?

That's because the town walls have LOD _far.nif files, but in order for the game to recognize them, you need to run TES4LODGEN, which everyone says is really easy and awesome, but I have a lot of problems with it.

1. Sometimes after using it, my LOD meshes turn bright yellow or blank black.

2. Sometimes the LOD distant meshes still don't show up.

There is another step that might need to be done. I forget right now, but I'll get back to you on it. For now, use this:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15781

It will probably work for you, because you're not me, with my astronomically coincidental and weird problems that nobody else has.

This might be it but I actually mean so they show up on my map so I can fast travel to them.

Oh.

Well, that's part of the mod itself. You can edit the mod in the CS to display the towns initially.

There is a mod that adds lore friendly map markers to places all over Cyrodill, but it seems to be hidden right now, unfortunately.

You might just have to fast travel to Leyawiin and hoof it. Sorry. At least you can go there now.

Well, the towns and all that other stuff never actually were there to begin with.

I can't even "hoof" it there.

Either that, or I wasn't in the right place to find the towns.

Ps. Question: Is the whole province of Elswyer supposed to be desert? Because when I "TCL" there or on my Akatosh dragon all I see is trees and low quality dirt on the ground.
