Body parts become transparent after fast travel

I'm using a cute elf for my female character.

 

After getting some really cool armor by Gizmodian I fast traveled and the armor became transparent in places.

 

see attached.

 

I am pretty sure it is not the armor causing it but rather something in my game settings.

 

Any suggestions welcomed.
