Game crashes when I use "showracemenu" in the Console

I have used a few mods, but have deleted them all. I noticed that when I did, my character's face had a blindfold over the eyes, and his hair was like a topknot. To put it simply, it looked ridiculous. I was using Ren's Beauty Pack prior to deciding to scrap the mods. I tried e-mailing the creator and posting on his thread, but haven't received any word back.

I can enter the ~showracemenu on any other character, for some reason just my main character's race menu cannot be entered.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried the "The Character Generate Amulet" mod by dagger. The mod can be found here on tessource, if the amulet doesin't work try to download the beauty pack again and then use the console command or the amulet...

Well I just did both.

1. -Re-downloaded Rens Beauty Pack

-unzipped, activated the data file, launched game.

-Entered the command console, typed "showracemenu", game locked up (crashed).

-Deleted all of Rens Beauty Pack files

2. -Downloaded danger's Character Generate Amulet mod.

-Unzipped, activated, launched game.

-Picked up the amulet, put it on, the edit race/class/sign menu appeared.

-I clicked Edit Race, and my game locks up the same way (crashes before switching to the Race Menu).

I really don't know what else to do, I guess my character is corrupted... *sigh* I really wish people wouldn't post deffective mods on TES Source... but hell, I really don't care if they're deffective or not, as long as the creator is willing to work with the testers to get things working. In this case, the creator of the Rens Beauty pack Mod disappeared after the mod was released. Hasn't even replied to his mod's thread in months, and his e-mail is invalid or something (get a reply from MAILER-DAEMON everytime I try to contact him). :(

Sigh. Playing is not much fun when your character looks ridiculous. :(

Thanks for the tips, regardless, CZ.

Is there any way to edit the Oblivion .ini file to fix this problem? Or somehow save my character's game so I can re-install the game client?

I am really not happy about this. People need to either note that their MODs are deffective or at least stick around to help people fix the problems their MODs create... sigh

While this statement is true, it is not a reality. This is unfortunately the risk we all take when we decide to download plugins. :( There's always a chance it could be dirty...please always remember to backup those savegames!!
