DeathmatchTheTitan Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 A friend of mine told me there will soon be an Oblivion movie.Do ya think there will be one?I think it would might be good.
Lukeass Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 If it did, it would be a complete piece of crap. Oblivion is meant to be a large, interactive world where a player can freely roam and take their character in any direction they wish, either literally or role-playing wise. The storyline behind the main quest was pretty decent, but writing a movie based on just that one aspect would gimp the viewers of the adventuring and leveling this game offers. In addition, a large number of quests (especially early on in the guilds and partway through Dark Brotherhood) are just go kill target X or find item Y formulas, which work great on games and TV, but poorly in movies. Final Fantasy Spirits Within had the same concept and the same type of plotline, and that did so horribly in theatres that Square never released another movie to theatres again, and actually closed down their movie department. So in short, this might make a good TV series if enough people were interested, but a movie would not have enough time to convey the intricacy behind Oblivion and would totally suck balls.
Stampede Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I'm not sure about the reliability of your friend's sources. However, if there is an Oblivion movie, I think it will be as good as the Star Wars prequels.
makhno Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I doubt there'll be any Elder Scrolls movie anytime soon... But the movie posters for Oblivion are already done!!: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...ail&id=1201 http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...ail&id=1347 And don't they look great!

sleaaels Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Lol that is hilarious! they forgot to name drop another star in the poster...its from a reliable source; Duane Johnson (The Rock) as Fan Boy.

Nerivant Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I can imagine it now... A prisoner turned hero... A priest turned king... And a fan pushed over the edge... literally... All in the greatest movie since whenever the last movie was made... The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

LOL ha ha ha ha... *coughs* I don't think it fits his charactar, though! However, on the movie poster, it looks like someone got Oblivion charactars and the glasses mod and just took a screenshot of Narina Carvane, their charactar, and Martin, and put names of an actor and some actresses.
