To all those having trouble with finding Arnand or the Count of Skingr

First and for all: English is not my mother tongue so there might be a couple of spelling or other mistakes in what I'm about to write  But in some way I'm sure you'll all understand what I'm trying to say.

1. Thanks to the Kvatch rebuilt team!

You guys did a great job, I just downloaded the mod a couple of days ago and I'm absolutely thrilled about what I'm going to experience in the next couple of days/playing hours. Also thanks to Elessar_VPR for uploading the mod and the good guidance about how to install the mod etc.

2. Troubles I've encountered.

I had a problem concerning the Sticks and stones quest. As I was searching the forums and comments added to the download page for the mod, it was clearly that I was not the only one having some trouble with that quest.

After the townspeople from Kvatch moved back into the city, I waited a week and I was told to hurry to Skingrad and ask the Count for help.

1st problem: as I went to see the count, there weren't any dialogue options concerning the quest 'Sticks and stones'

Solution: You should talk to a guy named Arnand, he is a bald guy dressed as a monk with fur boots in the Castle Skingrad courtyard. The solution to this problem was already sorted out by others in forums etc.

2nd problem: I can't find Arnand in the castle courtyard!

I encountered Arnand once in the castle's courtyard, he told me to go to the farm right outside Skingrad and I ought to return to him when my quest there was finished. I did as I was told but when I returned he was nowhere to be found. My quest marker (couloured red) indicated he was somewhere inside but no matter what door I tried in the courtyard, he wasn't there.

Solution: my guesses are that the mod is not compattible with the 'Open cities classics' mod by Texian godhugh and Arthmoor. OR it could be that my loading order is not a very good one so that there's a conflict between the mods, in that case it's my own fault :wallbash:

Anyway what you are ought to do if you have the same problem with the open cities mod running: go to Castle Skingrad main gate with your back to the bridge, directly on your right side there are two rocks, the rock on the right side, is a door to a 2nd Castle courtyard as if you were not running the open cities mod!!! When you aproach the stone you will see a door icon appearing, just enter and you're in the courtyard with closed gates as if you'd never installed the open cities mod. There you will find armand. Talk to him. He will tell you to come back at 10.00pm sharp to talk to the count. Wait there until it's 10.00pm. Or you can exit into the open cities 'realm' again by using the castle's main gate to The West Weald, or by using the 'floating' door somewhere near the well in the Castle's courtyard, go on about your business and return later.

You should be able to talk to the Count and continue the quest from there on.

There, I hope I helped out some people with the same problem concerning Arnand and the Count. If not, I hope you can work out something else so you can continue to play this great mod!

Sorry for the long explanation, it would have been easier if I could've posted some screenshots but for some odd reason I couldn't paste my printscreens in any program.

Cheers, game on!

It's clwear to me that if you have castle Skingrad courtyard "open" it will not work... I once had Open Beter citie running... and i got rid of it for just Better cities for that exact problem...All the Npc added to the different town in all of the mod i was running where always "Nowhere" to be found !!!

My advise... Get "Better Cities" insted and it will work, or patch your game using the CS !

Best of luck !

Well, so far I have tried everything. I have Better Cities and Kvatch Rebuilt, so I changed the load order. I made Skingrad into an Open City and went looking for the door behind Hammer and Tongs to the vanilla city (couldn't find it - and the door depends on which open cities you are running, I am running a different one from the original post). I've tried using the FormID with the numbers of the esp/esm for xx and the prid command, and it just tells me it's not valid. Searched everywhere for a patch I read about. I'm going crazy trying to find this guy!! At some point I will probably just give up and uninstall Better Cities for a bit of time.

EDIT - I solved my problem by deactivating better cities (uncheck the blue ESM at the top and rebuild the bashed patch, after you've done what you need to do, recheck and rebuild) until I completed Sticks and Stones. In the end, it was worth doing this rather than the hours I spent trying all the other things that didn't work.
