question about the addon winterforge and security of ur pc?

do any of u use The winter forge and have "wtf connect database conact pheanan" i just wonder if it's a bug or its done intentionally to hack ppl computer sry ifi appear to be paranoid but what better place to hack then when using a game since some firewalls are freed when using game that require loggin on internet (meanwhile ill delete that mod for my own pc safety

Never used it so can't really comment. Normally I'd suggest asking in the comments section of the mod itself, but that's not possible because Phaenan has blocked comments and endorsements. However, I believe The Winter Forge is a fairly popular mod for Dragon Age, it's listed as one of the Files of the Month for Nov 2009 and it currently has 38,918 downloads, of which 19,488 are unique downloads. You could try asking about it on the BioWare Social Site itself.

 

One thing that does spring to mind though is that there have been a few malicous uploads to the Nexus site lately, basically "copies" of popular mods that actually contain a virus. So just to be certain, the link to the real Winter Forge mod is:

Simply check that is the one that you downloaded, if it is then I suspect you may simply have a technical problem of some sort.

What you have is a bad install or a broken download. The Winter Forge is one of the most used and recommended mods for DA:O & AW. Had you posted this in one of the Dragon Age forums, ideally Modding - User Troubleshooting you would have stood a better chance of someone helping you as many of us use it and pheanan checks it semi-regularly. Had you read the file description before downloading you would have discovered the following:
