Okay I need some help xD

I suggest typing "face" in the search box at the top of this screen. That returned 23 hits under this topic alone, (and lots more from across all of the Modding section!) many of which are obviously (based on their subject lines) on the exact same subject as this request.

Please look through those before posting that you've been "...searching and searching for help." Then, if you can't figure out how to accomplish what you're after, please do come back and pose a specific question about a specific problem you might be having in using the Toolset, Character Creator, Chargenmorphcfg file, or other facemorph-related issue.

Thx!

to do this, you are going to need to be able to use the toolset. if you dont already have it, you can do a google search for bioware dragon age toolset or fileplanet dragon age toolset to find legit places to download it from. ;)

But yes, there are many, many posts on how to do this.

However, many of them dont cover awakening morphs. in order to access the awakening morphs, you would need to go into documents/bioware/dragon age/addins/DAO_PRC_EP_1

inside that folder you will want to go to core/data and open face.erf in the toolset.

now, once you've got that file open, you can do one of two things. You can right click on the ONE file that you are looking for and choose to have the toolset extract it to whichever location your computer that you want it in. OR you can choose to have the toolset extract ALL of the .mor files to a location on your computer.

Myself, I tend to use the latter.... that way I dont have to go back and redo it again later, if I want to use a different file that was packed up inside that .erf file. I just create a new folder on one of my other harddrives, and extract all the files to it for later use.

Once you've got the file(s) extracted, you simply need to place it in your documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/override folder. Then do the character save edit in the toolset and and put in the name of the particular .mor file that you're wanting to use, as the tutorial suggests. (tutorial is what you can find posted in your search results that Thandal suggested ) ;)

Or use the extracted file as the source in the face morph replacer program which is also linked in some of the posts that Thandal and Rusty and I have posted in.

Good luck, and have fun :)

Ohhhhh wait! This is for COMPANIONS!!

I'm really, really sorry... I didnt notice that part!

Companions are slightly different. With these, you need to edit their charactername.utc file.

in the toolset, click the icon that says ALL. Give the toolset a minute or two to work, then type in the name of the character that you're wanting to edit. Give it a minute to work.

You will see a tree listing, and you will want to look under the listing(s) for GLOBAL.

There are TWO listings for global that companions are listed in. One global listing has their .chr file in it, the other has their .utc file in it. The .utc file is what you want.

Right click on the .utc file and choose OPEN LOCAL COPY. Once the TS opens that copy, go up to the bar menu, and choose File/Save As

I tend to save it to a different file on my harddrve for working with later on, but you can choose to have it saved to the documents folder that I mentioned in my first post.

Now. close down the files that are open in the TS, and open up your extracted copy that you just made. You will need to scroll down to the Appearance section of the file to find where the facemorph that is being used is listed.

Left click Once in the box where the filename is listed, and change that to the filename.mor that you are wanting to use. Then resave the file, and it's good to go :)

OR

You can simply put the charactername.mor file in your override folder, then rename the file to the name for the character that you're wantng to use.

For example....

rename the file to hm_genfl_alistair.mor for Alistair.

For daO characters, they will always start out with the race, then gender, then genfl. so H for human, E for elf, D for dwarf, or Q for Qunari (sten). Then M for male, or F for female. Followed by genfl_ then the character name.

Couple examples-

hf_genfl_leliana

hf_genfl_morrigan

dm_genfl_ogran (misspelled his name)

em_genfl_zevrahn (misspelled his name)

and so forth. Now however, DOG and SHALE are handled much much differently, so trying to edit them in this fashion doesnt work.
