Na, he created a 3ds model for the purpose of ordering machined parts... Real high precision stuff. That's the complete opposite of a "game ready" model. The level of detail in his model would likely send most computers into a fit. The detail would need to be scaled down significantly. The model didn't have details on every part, just the machined ones and connections, so I'm not too sure how "complete" it is.

That said I might have a look at sending the person responsible for it an email at some stage. I was thinking about it initially, but figured I'd try and get someone capable of making the model interested first, since there would have to be edits made before it is suitable for use in FO anyway.

I'm sure the model is very precise because it was designed for machining, but it's a very boxy gun. It doesn't have a whole lot of visible detail to begin with. You'd definitely want to remove some parts and rebuild others. Besides, you can use the high poly model for creating your normal map(s), and you could easily generate a low poly version by working off the high poly one. The main differences you'll run into between this and the real prop gun are the different receiver (AK47 replica instead of a Saiga one) and the missing scope and laser sight(s) (though the actual model names for these are provided.) Upon closer inspection, the wooden parts of the grip and the cartridges may also be missing. Some of the pictures at that linked site do show the 3d models of the receiver, so while they may be available, the level of detail might be much lower than the rest of the components. This is really all speculative, though.

That's kinda what I was hinting at. The 3ds model consisted only of the components which needed to be machined. That's a good point with the normal generation though. The reciever shouldn't be a problem, It wasn't included in the machining model but there are already SAIGA models in FO, so the "extra" bits would just need be be converted and a chop job to merge the two.

The scope and sight can come at a later date, besides, I've seen very similar attachments in another mod, so there's a good chance I can just get permissions for one of those.
