Mods for me

Hi, I am looking for a set of mods to do the following:

 

  • Make the game look as good as it possibly can
  • Make my playthrough as a Magician more enjoyable
  • General tweaks/community updates which improves the gameplay, "Must-have mods"
  • The best of the best when it comes to additional content.

 

 

Any advice is very welcome.

I'm still trying to get all the mods I like the looks of before giving Oblivion another go, and here's a few I've added that you might like too.

 

To make the game look better you could have a look at these..

Qarl's Texture Pack 3

Improved Trees and Flora 1+2

Natural Environments

Enhanced Water

Distant Lands

Illumination Within Revived

Improved Signs

Elven Map Redux

Realistic Lava 1.3

One of the body mods to made the bodies look better

and of course Oblivion Graphics Extender.

 

For magic I'd check out Midas Magic Spells of Aurum. Though it's probably worth trying Deadly Reflex too.

 

For the must have mods, I really like Dark UI, Toggleable Quantity Prompt

 

Martigen's Monster Mod seems nice too. I'm sure there's a bunch more but can't think of them right now.

In terms of additional content, I like to use Francesco's leveled creatures items mod (its a huge balancing overhaul with lots of optional feutures and flexibility).

-FCOM is also very good (it mixes all the major overhaul mods for oblivion togethre).

The illumination within makes windows of light up at night when you are walking in the streets, making towns feel a little more lively.

-The Imperial Legion Faction Mod adds interesting quests and items plus the Imperial Legion Distric (and a couple of other places). I like this one because the quests are a little different, in the way that they concentrate a little more on larger-scale fighting (than your classical player vs enmies or player + a companion vs enemies). They involve things like escort quests, where your troops will get ambushed several times, defending a legion camp from a large group of badits and etc. I think you should give it a go.

-The Blackwood Company mod adds some interesting quests with high replayability value.

-Servant of the Dawn mod allows you to continue the main quest, this time working for the mythic dawn and restoring their power. Worth a try.

- Vampire Hunting: Order of the Virtuous Blood

Edit:

I just deactivated everything with FCOM infront of it. Oblivion launched fine.

Anyone see any faults with my FCOM mods?

 

Edit #2:

Narrowed it down to "FCOM_Francescos.esp"

Anyone see a solution to this?

 

Edit #3:

The game is up and running whtout "FCOM_Francescos.esp".

Cleared the tutorial part of the game, crashed when exiting sewers. Corpses are green.

Some game components are in German (Certain spell schools/Heavy Armor Mastery etc)

 

Edit #4:

The game seems to be working properly now. No green corpses. German UI elements persists after installing DarNified UI.

I had to remove OOO, FCOM, MMM though. No idea why these are acting up.

Anyone got any ideas?

You need to run BOSS to sort your load order and follow the suggestions it shows in the log.

There are so many problems that you may need to start again from scratch. Follow the updated instruction from the BethSoft thread here. Also make sure you have Wrye Bash and build a Bashed Patch if you're not doing so already.

I've followed the guide you posted, started off with a clean install. Seems to be working nicely enough.

 

Only thing left to add is some type of graphics enhancer/textures.

Any suggestions?

 

 

Im currently considering activating Qarl's Texture packs, but when I activate the first one in OMM it says it conflicts with another mod. Is this normal behaviour and should be ignored?

 

I also tried to play for about 20 minutes earlier, everything seemed to work fine except for when I got hit. I got some strange graphical error after getting hit by an enemy. I dont know what mod can be causing this.
