Two monitors but only playing on one, but mouse goes all over.

In games I have played in the past, the mouse cursor always stopped at the edge of the monitor I was playing on. Now, it seems to want to wander all over the place and when I click trying to select something on screen and the cursor is somehow on the other monitor (ok... I get excited when the AI is trying to kill my guy!) DAI goes into "page mode" instead of full screen and I have to click on the "playing screen" to reset it again. I don't know if this is just me as I built a new computer and maybe I missed something in the vid driver settings or something. I am running a couple of r9 290x's in crossfire with the 14.12 drivers, but had a similar setup on my last computer and it didn't allow the cursor to wander to another monitor when a game was being played.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Are you using any 3rd party programs to enhance the multiple monitor experience?

I have used both Multimon in the past and currently use Display Fusion with no problems - I have 3 monitors and play on the larger center one - the mouse stays on the main display when playing games.

There is a program called mouse without borders - that one may do what you are describing

Hi bben46... The only program I might have that might affect this is perhaps the driver for the Logitech G502 gaming mouse. I used Logitech mice and drivers on my last computer with no such "wandering cursor". When I played a game it would stay on the same screen. This is Win 8.1 however, and the last computer had Win 7, so I don't know if they changed something. I do have a background running that changes scenes occasionally though. I think I will try disabling that and see if that helps. It might be keeping the border open so the mouse can cross. Usually games will "darken" or turn off the screen on my second monitor, or at least did in the past. I will try a static background and see if that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion about the mouse program. If all else fails I may try it, but I hate to introduce something else into the mix until I exhaust the other options. Hopefully "Mouse Without Borders" will not interfere with the Logitech drivers should I need to try it. I will report back if I make some progress today.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Well... I changed the backgrounds on the monitors to a static one but that didn't help. On the plus side I am now using a little program that does stuff to DAI (increases attributes of the characters) which I keep on the other screen so I am now less anxious to disable the wandering mouse because, you know... attributes are useful! So I guess I will just soldier on as it is. Thanks for the replies though. I may still look into "Mouse Without Borders" in the future so thanks again for mentioning that.

The mouse without borders is intended to allow the mouse to be able to move to other screens - which is what you already have. Normal operation would be the mouse is locked to the game screen only.

I was asking if possibly you had a program like mouse without borders that was causing what you were seeing.
