skyquest32 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 How many save games with diff characters will skyrim hold without corruption issues. Like say if you had characters with over 100 saves. Would it effect gameplay? When would it start to?
cdcooley Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 The more files you have the longer it will take for the Load and Save commands to create a list for you. Other than that there's no real limit. But I would recommend using some program (Mod Organizer, Wrye Bash, etc.) that can manage your save files (usually called profiles) so that the save files for different characters aren't all mixed together. Or you can manage them yourself manually like I do. I just have a link to my Skyrim saved games folder (the one that holds the INI files and Saves folder) on my desktop. When I'm ready to switch between characters I simply rename the current Save folder to something like Save-Archer, Save-SkoomaAddict, Save-RogueMage, etc. and then either rename one of those back to Save or create a brand new Save folder if I'm starting a new character.
iulenny Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 If you're not ready to swim in the deep end with MO, then the profile manager mod works nicely. It organizes the saves separately by character names.
Boombro Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 There is skyrim save manger, good for more than one run. For save count, if you clean the saves often you will do fine, I reaching save 300. But I save a lot. Every 5 min.
skyquest32 Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 Thanks guys that is helpful, about the load and save commands I did not know. I was just making sure my game would not get corrupted. Now I have some ideas to help with management.
