Songsmith
I broke down last night and started running through one of the tutorials which, like most, had me start with making a simple room/house. That's okay. Worked fine so far. But I've noticed a glitch in several house plug-ins I've played that I don't wish to repeat in my own house. Interior doors duplicate. You go through them once, one door. You rest or mess around for awhile, go to leave and the door (normally left open by you) has closed. Okay. Open the door. Ack! There's another door behind it! You can open that one and exit into the next room. You have two doors to close now, though. This is just ... weird. Nothing major, just not aesthetic. What causes this problem and how do I avoid it in my own puny attempts? Thanks!
Marxist ßastard
First, get Private Mobile Base... It's huge, it's incredibly well done, and allows you to not only realistically transport yourself, but also the base itself to many different locations. Best of all, there are no interior doors. Second, get TES PCD. Run a quick sweep through all your plugins and delete the unclean entries. After that's done, make sure that you don't edit the plugins you have and then load a savegame in which you've encountered dynamic objects from the plugin such as activators, NPCs, and doors. This includes plugin updates. If you update a plugin, load a savegame without it first and then save. Load said game with the new version installed. If you can't do this, be prepared to have quite a few duplicates. So how do you prevent doubling in your mod? Simple. Just don't create unclean entries and don't edit the plugin while you're playing off a savegame in which you've encountered dnamic objects from your mod unless you first delete the plugin and reinstall the new version.
