teepeezombie
There are several component Star Wars mods already out there, including Star Wars races, lightsabers with animated blades, Star Wars powers, speeder bikes you can ride, Jedi robes and Star Wars armors, and more. I think it would be great to have an all-in-one game mod that not only added these components but also distributed them throughout Skyrim. For instance, you'd see patrols on the roads riding speeder bikes, speeder bikes parked in stables, several NPCs of the Star Wars races (I think Arngeir of the Greybeards would make a great Yoda!), lightsabers among the loot and distribution lists, NPCs using lightsaber weapons, mages dressed in Jedi robes, etc. Likewise, following the theme of other mods such as avenger86's, the Dark Brotherhood would get restyled as a Sith Academy and the College of Winterhold would become the Jedi Temple. Mages would be renamed Jedi, necromancers and assassins would be Sith, and so on. Gold would become Imperial Credits (via avenger86's mod changes Star Wars Imperial Credits). Even with the name changes, race changes, speeder bike additions, and changes to loot tables, I would want this overhaul to be fairly light-weight. Instead of adding a bunch of new standalone Force powers, it would be smoother (in my opinion) to follow the example of mattsour451's Harry Potter Spells mod and rename the existing spells and powers to Star Wars-friendly names (Flames to Force Ignite and Unrelenting Force to Force Push, etc.). To top it all off, having a Star Wars themed main menu replacer and music injected into the game along with the vanilla music would be stellar. The reason for this mod would be primarily for immersion. If I install any of these mods individually, currently they only affect my toon and not anything else in the world of Skyrim. I'm the only Star Wars race character and the only one wielding a lightsaber. Instead, I want to feel like the whole of Skyrim exists somewhere in the Star Wars universe - as lore-breaking as that might be.
TheBawb
the music is heavily copyrighted, so I wouldn't suggest putting that in. but other than that this looks like a fantastic idea, and I'm all for it
VanKrill
Getting the permissions to use the meshes and textures may be a problem. I am working on a Scifi total conversion mod, but I really don't think I'd ever be able to publish it, for just that reason. I am not making anything near cannon Star Wars settings or storyline, it is a world/universe/starship/asteroid mining based on a series of Scifi Novelas that I personally wrote. But if you use Boba Fetts Helmet, if it somewhat modified, it is still iconic and instantly recognized. I've a number of the Halo mods and have mixed, matched and mashed together items to meet all of my mesh requirements, but you can't get authentic permissions to use any of it in a published mod. I can use it to make screen shots and animations to be part of the web-site on which I publish my stories, which was my real goal. It is very fun to play, particularly the REALISTIC mode of asteroid mining that I cobbled together, were you have to: 00] Hyper Jump into the mining system (Ala C J Cherryh's Chanur series type of Jump constraints), and Keep a wary eye for Shrandite Raiders 01] Approach the Leading or Trailing Trojan Gravity Node collection of asteroids in the orbit of a Gas Giant, and Keep a wary eye for Shrandite Raiders. 02] Scan the field to find a metal high content 'Roid from among the stoney or already mined out rocks, and Keep a wary eye for Shrandite Raiders. 03] Plot a course through the maze of moving rocks to approach in the mining Tug-Pod, and keep a look out... 04] Track the trajectories of that rock, and the surrounding long enough to know what to expect, and watch the jump drop zones for incoming... 05] Deploy and piton-rocket cable secure a Limpet Thruster Drone to the Rock, and apply thrust to stop its spin and wobble, and don't get hit by a collision re-pathed rock. 06] Settle the Pod down on the surface of the Rock, and use the laser drill to core drill while analyzing the evolved gases to determine what is in the rock. 07] Make a decision to:a] walk away from a useless rock,b] or mine the minerals out of a vein, vug, or phenocryst by drilling a human access diameter hole,c] or attach solid mooring points to the rock by drilling 4 cm diameter, 2 meter deep holes and mounting Eye-Rods in lapidary epoxy, and tow the whole rock clear of the field, then mine it...d] or using a core Krysaal explosive charge to Shatter the rock and stand by in the TugPod to catch the choice debris smaller rocks. ohh, and watch for Raiders... 08] Process the raw ore down to the high value Meta-Matter Krysaals, metals and Metaclacse 09] Jump back out of the system and take the loot to a station for sale. So, the game is somewhat like EVE online, but without the sillyness of mining by a laser beam only. You have to fight the hazards of the 'Roid field, and go EVA, and use math, and planning, and balance risks, to get the payoff. Oh, and Shrandite Raiders love to do boarding actions, and slit you open to get your ship, and your ore, intact, and your person, for dinner. So, you often end up with incoming assault pods, and power-Blade sword battles in vac-suits. Making your own personal Moon-Base and setting up farms and gardens in caverns lit by Metaclacse reactor power is kinda neat too. Seeing your jump ship sitting in the landing bay of your own personal moon base, with its mining rider pods and refined ore bins hanging around it, it something to really spark a sense of frontier, high tech, independent lifestyle pride and glory. Its fun! - Edited December 15, 2014 by VanKrill
