A little crash issue

Just thought I'd post this here to see if anyone has had a similar issue and maybe some sort of solution.

I play with a heavily modded FO3, something like 70 mods. I have gone to great lengths to make these mods work as well as they can together, and to make my game as crash free as possible. For the most part, I've been very successful. I rarely if ever crash, and usually when I do I can figure out why and fix it, but this most recent set of crashes is beyond me.

Basically, with Mothership Zeta Crew, the TSC air support addon, I tend to call in my boys whenever I see Enclave outposts out in the wastes. The issue is, that can mean im looking at 5 friendlies and around 5-10 enclave troopers. When entering battles of this scope and up, Fallout crashes almost without fail. It seems that almost all of my crashes lately have been issues with lots of stuff happening on screen at once.

I have made Fallout large address space aware, and with my rig that means I've got 9 gigs of RAM pumping into fallout almost exclusively. And yet, the crashes.

So, anyone else run into this problem and come up with a fix? It would be much appreciated.

Oh, I should mention I have tried turning alll my graphics settings to minimum and then entering these battles to no avail, I still get pretty persistent crashes. It seems to be the AI that is draining the system, more than the graphics.

Thanks in advance!

My two cents;

- are these battles with energy weapons and are you using EVE? I noticed that with 'largish' battles and especially plasma weapons I would get CTD's. Limiting the use of these weapons would often (not always help).

- are you running a SLI rig? there was a post (and I'm sure it was on Nexus - but with my feeble mind I could be wrong) where a guy was having a similar problem and he was using SLI - he updated his driver and the problem solved.
