blueparrot1966
I'm making a display gallery, and most of the static objects I've used are stock things from the original game. But a couple of items are from other places- the display tables from the Mournhold museum, and the mannequins from "a good place to stay". (Don't know who originally made them, but that's where I got them from.) If I upload this gallery for general use, how do I make those objects part of my new plug in, so it can stand alone? Right now, to use it, I need to have both the expansion and the mod loaded, in addition to the plug in I've made. Do I have to "combine plug-ins" from the TES file menu, which sounds pretty extreme? Or is there a way to bundle just the objects I want, to keep the plug in size low? (Also note, I'm glad to give credit where it's due, if the mannequin maker wants to let me know.) Marxist ßastard
...Just copy the mods that your plugin is dependent upon and manually pick out all the entries in the plugins that you aren't using in your plugin. Then you can merge the plugins with a minimum of errors and size that's going to waste.
blueparrot1966
I'll work it out- thanks. I was looking for something within the construction set, but I guess I'll go back to Windows and do some cutting and pasting.
blueparrot1966
I'm still stumped. What, exactly, do I need to find, and how do I bundle it with the actual .esp? I see some meshes for the mannequins in the "data files/meshes/b" subdirectory. But If I don't load the other plug in with mine, the construction set says it can't find scripts, for example, "scr_mannequin_1". I can't find files of that name with a drive search. Where do I look, what am I looking for, and where should I put it once I find it? (Surely someone here will be glad to tell me where I can put it. ) I'm just about done, and it came out well. It's at least a good enough start that I'd like to upload it and get some feedback and comments. Anyone out there, if you know, please tell me- how do I get this thing to stand on its own two feet? Marxist ßastard
In CS, go into Data Files, then "Details..." If someone made a sword called the "steel flamesword of doom and death and despair and whatnot," and you aren't using it in your mod, delete the weapon entry and all references pointing to it in the plugin. Do this until you have only what you want in the plugin. An easier way to do this would be to get TES AME. I don't know where you can get it, however, without getting the BookRotate mod -- TES AME is included with it.
blueparrot1966
Thanks, I'll take a look for it. Book rotating sounds useful anyway. There's so much out there to download, it's easy to miss the really good stuff.
