Gethesmain
Iron Knight characters are specially made boss AI's for heavy armour fighters. My intent with the mod is not only to bring a new class of fighter to the board, but also strategy, as the character quickly goes from slow and deadly with high defence to fast and deadly with high attack and low defence. The AI package should be simple to produce, at least I hope. that is if it is infact possible to set parameters of what a character does or wears based on health. Simply; Iron Knights start with a shield and a large weapon (sword ax or mace) which are equipped standard one handed with shield in other. However there is a lock on the run animation forcing them to remain walking for the battle until a certain percentage of health is depleted. I believe this should be at 50%or 30% depending on how powerful they are. Possibly even as low as ten or 20 percent, as the quick movements after prolonged slow combat would be dangerous indeed, especially to low level players (hence part of the fun, as one can play hit and run at first, until the beast comes after you to finish you quickly with the twohanded sword) If it is possible to make the animations play slower that would be nice, but I doubt that very seriously as anything messing with animations tends to be hard. But this is simple in its control. Sword and shield set at walk only until health reduces, then the shield is removed from inventory. Straight up eject the thing from the NPC and cause the NPC to equip the sword two-handedly. Going about that (switching hand positions) should not be difficult as many of the large weapon mods come with one and two handed varieties. And I've seen a number of mods that facilitate a change of those that do not (though i think the "standard" weapons that come in one and two handed varieties would be faster for the maker, and less mod intensive for those who do not have/want a mod that switches weapons from hand to hand) Now these guys would be tough. The kind that would take some serious punishment to kill while the shield is up. I strongly believe that the shield would be enchanted with high shield and magic absorbing powers to ensure that the fight is a hard one. After the shield is removed, health should be pretty drastically reduced without the serious buffers the shield would impose. To ensure that the shield is not too much a god item, it could be locked and not able to be picked up, or nay added to inventory in the form a trophy (which could be pretty cool in itself) Or made to be very very heavy. If possible, adding the walk only lock would be the best if possible, but as I mentioned above, I am not even precisely certain that it can be done, but I believe it can. I very much wish for this to come to fruition and so will henceforth add ideal parings of parts I believe would make adequate Iron-Knights. To begin with however, I shall specify my first and foremost desired Iron knights. Using TDA's Armoury, the standard silver one would be of blissful use.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25332 Using this sword (Empire Greatsword/longsword) would be appropriate, and it comes in one handed and two handed varieties. These are rendered by Wonderful Trolf so you know its a work of art.http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25642 And this Shield would be pretty intimidating as an option. The Ram Shield by GunCowhttp://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20277&navtag=file/images.php?id=20277&tab=3 And if a location could be designated (which I assume would be a good idea) This guy would be right at home in Fort Alessia as it is non-quest related and contains marauders. This foe would be a fine "treasure" for an otherwise uneventful dungeon. Yes I realise that the swords or armour or shields might not be to the modders taste, they are simply examples of what I think might work and would be pleased just to see the idea implemented if not even in the armour design specified. But think of what it could do for the Deathknight armour? or Skeleton knight from Berserk, recently rendered in Oblivion? Or the LichKing equipment? Gethesmain
I have born witnessed that my thread is under scrutiny by the public. This is good as it means that there is some interest. I have comilied a few of my personal choices for possible Iron Knights candidates and would further like to call out to the makers and downloaders of "the duelist" and "duelist II" mod in the possibilities that these creations could add to a similar mod. iron Knight pairings These four are themede to fit the locations they would be placed in, and would make hansom bosses of sorts. Name Schadenfreuder (Black grim knight theme Giant Axe) Armour The Plate of the Shadow is Black and sadistic and very attractive dark armour for a dark themed Black Knight. Shield Plate of shadows includes a shield that is exquisitely rendered. Location Why not have him show up in Kavatch after the main quest. "The Duelist" quest might be interested in the idea of having to goad a dangerous looking knight into extreme battle. or could simply set him loose in the Kavatch courtyard? ruined city for flames? ------ Name Daedra Malefactor (Devilish daedra theme Giant Katana) Armour The amazing Deathic armour on a Daedric host would be a great fiend of Mehrunes invent! http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14248&navtag=file/images.php?id=14248&tab=3Sword Shield The daedric tower shield would be of good use here. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27161 Location At the top of Arkveds tower? its an all daedric and horror place already. ------ Name Sauron (Dark steel theme with giant Mace) Armour The amazing Sauron armour isn't even used! how can this not be in a mod to wave about and be imposing? Voicing would be a sad thing though. Whose body do you use? argonians? Sword A giant steel sword needs to be in this listing somewhere, and the Angelron is beloved befitting a great warrior in steel http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16573 Shield any one of these might be good, but the red cross or white eagle one get my vote. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23273 Location He should defend a bridge somewhere. Won't let you pass unless you face him in combat. Maybe show up in skingrad? I would like to say for legal reasons: It is not my intention to bring warnings or punishment on my head, so if anything said or done in my postings is against policy, please tell me so that I might amend those wrongs immediately. I should also like to point out that I realise many of the armours and weapons listed require permission to use in mods, and would certainly go to the lengths to get their permission where needed, these postings are merely ideas of mine for the use in the above mentioned mod. Moreover Any wonderful modders who have made items that are listed out here: Good for you! your work is incredible, and it is such a pleasure to be able to see your talent.
