GeneraloftheArmy
They appear wherever there is supposed to be a new model or texture, like with the TSC Commander Uniform and XM-586 Assault Rifle (from Mothership Zeta Crew mod by Nylonathathep http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8747 ) Obviously the game cannot display these items, they still function as in-game items, they just don't appear. Is there a way to solve this? anokii
Have you done Archive Invalidation? http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=944 Or your missing the textures / meshes - are you sure you installed the mods correctly? GeneraloftheArmy
That caused some ctds, so I did it manually in the fallout3.ini file. Is there anything else I need to do?
anokii
Umm - Archive Invalidation shouldn't cause any CTD's, it's simply changing the ini file for you.And all this is just telling the game engine to ignore the precompiled files and load them direct from the Meshes / Textures folders. If this isn't done or setup properly the game doens't know about the new textures and meshes and throws up the exclamation point. So usually this is caused by; - mod not properly installed - e.g. meshes and textures folders were not copied to the data directory from the mod- Archive Invalidation not done properly and the game doesn't load the new files- side note: if your running Win7 / Vista and you've installed to the default directory (C:\Program Files), UAC will cause problems and mods may not install properly - highly recommend you uninstall and reinstall to a new directory like C:\Games or something. GeneraloftheArmy
I use XP, and I know that I changed the bInvalidateOlderFiles=0 to bInvalidateOlderFiles=1. Is there something special that I need to do with the textures and meshes? Is it not enough to move the folders containing them to the Fallout 3/Data folder? GeneraloftheArmy
Well I got the meshes and textures working (for teh most part, the textures still flicker to different things every now and then), but now the game crashes when I kill the Tyranid in the alien Sub Base engineering area after restoring main power. Is there any thing I can do to fix the problem without re-installing (again)?
anokii
Yeah the 'flickering' problem I've seen and still occassioningly experience as well. Never have figoured out the cause except I reckon that it's got something to do with how the mesh was made.Sounds like it may be a bug with Zeta Crew or one of the mods for Zeta. Perhaps check with the author?
coco911231
At OP, Reinstall the mod, i had the problem with the exact same mod, and i just reinstalled the mod in order and made sure the textures and models folder was installed.
GeneraloftheArmy
I extracted the files direct to the fallout 3\data folder from the WinRAR.
