Froberg
Right, I just picked up the Fallout 3 Game Of The Year Edition, since it was dirt cheap and I wanted the neatness of a one-in-all install. It's been a while since I got my game on, so I started imaging the discs, and then proceeded to install. Sure, I had to run the setup.exe from the image to get it to run without a SecuRom error, but that was all well and good. Set about downloading 25-30 mods from what I remember from my earlier games, and tried launching the game with FOMM. WHAM, SecuRom error. Last I checked, FOMM ran FOSE which runs Fallout3.exe, effectively bypassing all the DRM checks. Is this no longer correct? I really, really, really don't want to have a dumb DVD in my drive to enjoy my game, but all my searches have just returned with "Just run the game using FOMM and you're golden!" except.. I'm not. I'm going to play a while now, using the silly DVD in my drive which will probably make a 747 engine at full power sound like someone whispering. *sigh* Can someone help a brother out here? Christ how I hate how they make it difficult exclusively for legitimate users. Assholes, one and all.
Vagrant0
FO3 doesn't use securom, chances are that you have some other game that uses securom which installed itself to various components of your system which prevents using disc images, and other things related to using disc data, even in legal applications. It's one of the reasons why this particular DRM is so severely disliked even among paid customers, and is regarded as malware. You however won't get help with this problem here. If you're experienced enough to know how to rig up a batch install, you should be able to figure this out on your own. Topic closed.
