No Enemy or NPC Markers on the Compass??

The title says it all. There are no enemy or NPC markers on my HUD compass, and it makes no difference where my character is in the wasteland. What causes this, and how can I fix it??

Hmm... are you running any mods? That's the first thing I'd suspect. There's a few "realism" mods and things like that which have a nasty habit of disabling the NPC ticks and not telling you.

... If the game was meant to be realistic everyone'd be dead, anyway.

 

The second thing I'd suspect is you've done something to the .ini file - or the game has. It does that sometimes.

All of the weapon mods I've used GECK to edit, so there might be something the matter with one of those from my relatively clueless tinkerings by trial and error. Niccolo, I appreciate your prompt and polite response, a lot of message boards treat questions like this as annoying. :)

For whatever reason Anchorage was loaded before Fallout 3. I'm assuming that that must be what the problem was, because the tick marks reappeared after reordering the mod load list. Just in case you were wondering. lol
