Wrath_Of_Deadguy
Usually, I keep two sets of weapons- one enchanted, one ordinary. The enchanted set gets used for high level quests, the ordinary set for everyday running around. The only reason I use enchantments at all is because it ticks me off to have an enemy live through a direct hit from a sneak attack, and enemies in high level quests have a nasty way of doing just that. I also occasionally use a bow enchanted to do fire damage to simulate using fire arrows- set the damage relatively low, but with a long burn time. If and when I choose to use enchanted weapons, I always carry a dagger enchanted with soul trap so I can easily refill weapons as they drain. Normally, my preference is for unenchanted weapons, for RP reasons. The only horse I use is Prior Maborel's, but only until it inevitably dies from a chance encounter with one too many enemies (i.e. a pack of wolves). The only reason I don't just kill the thing straight off is because that's not the sort of thing most of my characters would do (unnecessary killing = bad, killing non-hostile creatures/people = forbidden). After that, I don't use horses at all- they don't fit the types of characters I like to play, and they're too much of an inconvenience when a fight breaks out. I try to ignore the horse as much as possible, using it only when it "follows" me somewhere after a fast-travel (doesn't happen often). I'm rather partial to wood elves, as far as races go. Indifference could describe how I feel about argonians and other beastfolk. Bosmer is the way to go. ;) None of my chars use their weapons or armor a lot (some don't use armor at all), so keeping things repaired isn't usually a concern. Playing through most quests, being as careful and quiet as possible, my favored weapon will end up at about 90% integrity and my armor won't be damaged at all (which is good, since the most advanced armor you'll ever see any of my characters in is fur or leather- and very rarely chainmail, but only the cuirass in that case). I don't get Journeyman in armorer until I'm closing in on level 20, if even that soon.
beardie
I use all enchanted, whether it is armor, rings, amulets, or weapons, although as of late I use only two kind of enchantments on armor(clothing, to be more precise): reflect damage and spell(although I do keep Grey Aegis close just to be on the safe side), but on weapons I use all kind of enchantments, but mostly weakness to shock and shock damage, although on Anduril I use Fire damage and on Hadhafang Frost damage. For recharging I use Varla stone of Unlimited Power, so I do not have to pay to recharge my equipment. I do keep all my armor at top efficiency, even though it is on rare occasions that I use it, for my char is Vampire(thus not needing the Inquisitor`s Helmet), Breton and a Spellsword(although I more often use magic than weapons, for you know that Bretons are better sorcerers, wizards, battlemages and spellswords than the High Elves, who have weaknesses to all kinds of magic, which is not so useful when fighting another caster, except if you have reflect spell or Grey Aegis, though reflect spell is not so useful when fighting Atronachs, Wraiths or Liches, for they cast spells for which they are immune, unless you cast weakness to magic 100% for 15 secs, which will damage them) No, I do not ride horses for I do not like every now and then to dismount just to destroy some effing goblin, wolf or lion and then again mount again. That is too tiresome that I more often use sneak just to kill someone(big thanks to Legendary Mastery mod which has helped me in more than a few ocassions); of course with magic, but my magicka is soooooooooooooooooo high you would not believe me(3111, if someone wants to know :rofl :rofl :rofl ; intelligence, mysticism, conjuration and alchemy on 255; of course with the console) About the Argonians, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, AND ONCE AGAIN NO; I cannot even imagine people who would even LIKE to play them; I admit, they have awesome abilities(immunity to poison, 75% resistance to disease and water breathing) but I...I... just cannot play them, for non-beast races are much better than them(Bretons, Nords, Dunmer, Altmer, Imperials, even Bosmer and Orcs). Drennin
Hi all. I like unenchanted weaps and amor too. I DO use a horse, occasionally. transport. I HATE argonians. I kill em on sight (usually) same with khajit. beasts = bad for me.
dylandvillian
1.) mainly yes (occasionally known to run around with the wabbajack staff) i have to have enchanted gear but the weapon is not that important as getting that perfect suit of armor enchanted to make the game more interesting for the player who wishes even still that they can be god is a necessity. 2.)I've been protesting the though of bringing a horse into oblivion cause i think since it's a roleplaying game i just couldn't pull myself to role-play a normal animal when they had a perfect animals in the first place actually three or four perfect animals that went along with the original lore.(kagouti, guar, nix hound and clanfear)i woulda enjoyed the game play more if they had stuck to the lore. 3.)Now for the argonian thingy i think that you are right, but since i never have played the argonian in oblivion then my thoughts are more on the sarcastic end cause i love killing things. (even argonians and if I'm feeling especially evil towards them) so in a sick kinda nordic brentonian since I'm actually loving them to death. (own custom race) 4.) I can concur with the final statement as-well cause i like my stuff in tip top shape although i don't have like armorer as a major skill and i am not very proficient with a hammer but i do have stacks and stacks and stacks of the precious little shinny thingies a.k.a. septims and am more than willing to let someone else do the work that requires all that elbow grease just to keep the equip. in the absolute best condition. (question) I have a question for you, do you think when they come out with the other reptilian race do you think that you will give them a try or do you think that you will stick out the argonians???? Dylandvillian [edit] i know that horses were in the book lore of morrowind but they left them out of the game for a good reason and that reason was to completly submerse there audience into a fantacy RPG and i turned out to be the best ever decision. I don't know why they would bring a horse into oblivion when they had such good models like the nix hound. this isn't really that far fetched cause there is other lore that they decided to leave out of oblivion that shoulda been in the game. (ex. wood elves teeth are suposed to be sharp as razors.)(end edit)
Jlop985
Horses were talked about in Morrowind. Knights said that there were horses in the west when you asked about their trade. I use enchanted armor and uncharged weapons. I don't bother with recharging as the enchantment goes away too fast. I still have Prior Marborel's horse. Once I became a master armorer I fixed my armor after every fight. Argonians are pretty cool as NPCs. I never played as one, though.
thursti
after more gameplay my styles have changed. 1. Being a thief i use a bow and dagger, no enchanted wears. Though i keep my long sword of voltage during bigger jobs for the DB. 2. I can outrun most horses but the black horses and shadowmere. 3. I keep my weapons repaired at 125% when i go restock my arrows. 4. Argonians are ugly :P
