LeikoOta Posted September 15, 2010 Share Posted September 15, 2010 hi i'm a new girl on the block and am trying to learn how to mod. i gotta teach myself cause i don't know anybody who can teach me. i'm having trouble though cause i don't know which custom content i can use as a base and not get in trouble for stealing, pugery, ect. i'm looking for any simple content that the author has given permission to modify and post. authors please give your screen name and a link to anything you're willing to share. if i use it i will message you before posting with the name of my post so you can see the (damage) i have done. thank you for listening -LeikoOta Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

One great source of material is vanilla Oblivion and Shivering Isles. You can dissect all that material and edit it all you want without anybody caring. Another good source is the modders resources on TES Nexus. There is a whole category for mods that are public domain that modders are encouraged to use. You can also find some real treasures just by reading the readme files of mods. Quite a few of them are public domain with attribution or with attribution and notification. You can also investigate abandoned mods. I don't know if I have what you are looking for, but most of my uploaded mods are public domain if I am given credit for my work and if I am notified as a courtesy. Just check the readme files.
