what do i do with mod im new

hi i recently just brought the oblivion game and im going to mod i recently downloaded rens beauty mystic elve and hairstyles file what do i do with the mod someone told me i have to move it to main files if anyone can give me a list of instructions on what to do

1) Download 7zip - http://www.7-zip.org/download.html - and install it

2) Unpack the mystic elves archive

3) go to program files > bethesda softworks > oblivion > data files

4) take the "meshes" "textures" and the Mystic elves (or something like that) and copy paste them in your data folder

5) In the oblivion launcher, click data files, and make sure mystic elves is checked

 

As I recall, mystic elves wasn't a standard mod - you'll get an archive with 2 archives in it. Unpack the full version.

Well to put it into simple terms, I'll make you a step-by-step :)

 

- First download WinRAR. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

(That site may look a bit confusing, but just download the top file. 'WinRAR x86 (32 bit) 3.93')

 

- Now open Rens Beauty Pack (or whatever the name was) using WinRAR. Double click the name of the mod, it will lead you to another Folder with the same name. Double click that one too and you should see either a folder called 'Data' (if so just double click again) Or you will have some folders, with names like Textures, Meshes and you should also have a .esp file. (The file will say .esp on the end of it)

 

- You want to highlight all of those folders and that file. Once you have done that there is a bit button at the top that says 'Extract To'

 

- You then want to extract them to your Data folder. So for me the pathway to my Data folder is 'C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data' It may be a little different for you.

 

- Once they are in the Data folder you can close WinRAR.

 

- Start up Oblivion. Press 'Data List' it should then have the name of the mod you're using on the Data List. Simply tick it and then play :)
