Game keeps crashing on save

Seems to always crash no matter how far back I revert. I use BOSS, so I know load order isn't a problem. But I'll post my load order anyways.

I should also add that I use Windows 7 and my save file is about 7.4MB.

I also use pluggy, fast exit, crash prevention, and operation optimization. Had these extensions for a while; pretty sure they're not main culprits.

try the wrye bash bloat fix function on your save

as the bloating is the most common couse of crash on save

other things to do if the above solution dont solve your problem:

update stramline to 3.1 version and run updated boss (steamline is not cousing your problem but better to update)

and in win 7 dont install the game in the default path instead install it in another location like c/games

if dont work post again and i will gladly help

Tried the bloat save thing, but it didn't work. I also tried to debloat my corrupt save, but all I got was this error message

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\basher.py", line 8730, in Execute

saveFile.load(SubProgress(progress,0,0.8))

File "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\bosh.py", line 5679, in load

num, = ins.unpack('I',4)

File "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Mopy\bolt.py", line 922, in unpack

return struct.unpack(format,self.read(size))

File "C:\Python25\lib\struct.py", line 87, in unpack

return o.unpack(s)

struct.error: unpack requires a string argument of length 4

Not sure what it all means, but I do want to share.

As for the different location install, any way to change location without having to reinstall again? It's such a hassle...

And I truly appreciate all your help :thumbsup:

no way to just move it but copy everirthing from your data folder, uninstall, reintall in other location, then move your data folder backup to the new location also export your load order with obmm so you dont need to reorder it again

aside from that the only times i where geting errors in wrye bash where when i had the game installed in the default folder but dont remember anything like that (and when my saves did not need the unbloat it just tell me that its not necesary so maybe installation problem)

also this is like a shoot in the dark but try the new conflict detector tool in obmm and look for the edid report somethimes it can tell when something bad is happening

Mission failed. :wallbash: I reinstalled in a new directory. Game still crashes. Oh well... I guess I'll have to start a new game.

I'm thinking of starting a new game with FCOM, Unique Landscapes, Better Cities and a lot of realism mods.

Can anyone think of any "realism" mods (eg Real Hunger, Real Sleep, Real Thirst, etc)

Oh! And most importantly, does anyone have some advice to prevent a future save corruption? I saved only by creating new save slots- save count was on 1400 and a final file size of 8Mbs.

I strongly appreciate any help because save corruptions are REALLY annoying!!

im using streamline save feature to do the auto saves and my larger save is about 5mb (using all the oficial dlc and a little more than 260 mods with bashed patch) so i think thats working right for me

- dont use the vanilla auto save or the quik save instead use the save at travel and save at fight with streamline

- im using only 10 slots with a mid-low spec machine and i didnt had any corrup save so far and my save is at 8996 (yea i save a lot)

and for the realism mods im sorry, im still waiting for gorangas real life sistem

but maybe you want to use this http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24079 so your character will have the need to eat, drink, sleep and eventually they will get tired
