Xanh
Hello, I just reinstalled DA:O to play a little, and my mods are not working anymore. I installed the DAZip, which are working perfectly, yet, I installed the other mods the same way in C:\Users\[name]\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override And the mods are not loading anymore, like before I uninstalled the game. I tried various location, but, no, the mods, which were working before, aren't working anymore, like if the files were not here. I used DAM, and according to the software, the mods are installed properly and without conflict. In other words, they should work in the game. Any idea? Thank you! Thandal
No idea at all unless you tell us exactly which mods you're talking about.

Thandal
All those mods are ".dazip" files. They DO NOT go in your "\override" folder. As the Polygamey author states in the Instructions:Author's Instructions: -- Install ---Install dazip with daupdater.
Xanh
Oh well, surprise, because when you open the zip file, here is what you have : For example, the Blood Mage Staff :http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/712307Bloodstaff1.jpg When you open the .zip file, you have an .erf file inside, instead of a DAzip. Mod was downloaded here, try it yourself:http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/2022/? Edited December 22, 2014 by Xanh
Xanh
Same goes for Polygamey and else, of course.http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/823160polygamey.jpg Downloaded here :http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/259/? The description for installation doesn't match the real files inside the zip. So, for these file, I have to put them in "override", like I did before, to work, and, they are not working anymore. Thandal
All three are packaged as ".dazip" files by their authors. Which is just a special kind of ".zip" archive containing more than one file, and the built-in DAUpdater.exe (or the mod manager of your choice) knows where to put each piece so that they'll work in-game. Your browser is doing something to/with those files. Let me guess, Chrome, right? Chrome thinks it knows better than the author how to handle that type of file. Since it "appears" to be a standard ".zip" file, Chrome magically changes the file extension for you. This is something fairly new in Chrome, older versions didn't do this. (Thanks for nuthin', Google...) That's probably why they worked for you before. You didn't just drop them in your "\override" folder, you used DAUpdater (or DAM, or DAMM, or NMM) to install them the first time. Which is still what you have to do, once you repair Chrome's damage by renaming them back to ".dazip".
Xanh
Know that the item is loading with an old save, played with another version of the game when put in the folder "override" but it is not loading with the same last version of the game with a new save. And thus from start. Also, my tal_storag_chest isn't working anymore either, and it's a DAZip, installed properyl, it was working with the same version of the game, and isn't working anymore. Thandal
Those are all perfectly normal ".dazip" mods. They get installed (and work!) absolutely normally. I'm running with two of them myself. Something is wrong with your setup. I would do a complete un-/re-install if I were you. :geek:
Xanh
To be honest with you, all these mods were working perfectly with the pirated version of the game, and are not working anymore since I bought a legal copy of the game. The exact same mods, installed exactly the same way. The saves, the previous saves are from the pirated games, that I load with the legal copy, and these saves, the mods load perfectly, they appear in the inventory, or the chest appear normally in the campfire. I uninstalled the pirated copy of the game to install the legal copy of the game, removed the settings files and kept the saved games only. I re-installed the mods exactly the same way as before, and now, they are not working with the legal copy of the game, even if I start a new game. Here is the situation.
