FWE Alternate Start conundrum

I'm not sure if this is where I should post this, but I need help getting into Rivet City to continue the main Fallout 3 questline. Unfortunately, with the Alternate Start mod that came with FWE, I chose to be part of the Talon Company faction. And now I can't get entry to Rivet City without attracting hostility from Harkness and Rivet City security. What can I do to continue the main quest? Are there any console commands which adds the player to the Rivet City faction?

You can temporarily remove yourself from the Talon Merc faction, which is the better way to do it. I usually play as a Talon Merc and do that so remember the faction ID off the top of my head :smile:

It's player.removefromfaction 4443b

To re-add yourself later input player.addtofaction 4443b 1

 

You'll find, later on, if you have Broken Steel, that once you're officially added to the BoS faction for some reason it overrides the Talon faction and you don't need to keep removing and adding yourself into the Talon faction through the console. I actually didn't like that and wanted to remove myself from the BoS faction just so I could have Rivet City Security hostile towards me permanently :biggrin:

The correct way, of course, is to kill enyone opposing you. :)

IIRC it's quite possible, as Li&CO aren't hostile to you.
