ShadowStrikeAssassin
My creation kit seems to want to crash when loading master files. I know it freezes for a while, as I've been using Fallout's GECK quite a lot, but I only recently managed to afford Skyrim. I've been searching for the past 40 minutes for a fix and found nothing.I've tried reinstalling, tried verifying the cache, tried the "multiple masters error" fix, but now I'm all out of ideas and I can't find anything else on the web. Anyone got a fix for me, or do I have to just watch as my creation kit continues committing Seppuku?
pyrotx
Well first, you could try reinstalling both skyrim and/or the creation kit. Second if your only trying to load the skyrim.esm and it crashes, it don't know what to tell you. If your trying to load multiple master files, skyrim.esm and dawnguard.esm, ect, then make sure you find an understandable tutorial on the multiple masters load fix, and follow it to the letter. Also, there are probably plenty of videos on youtube for it as well. Lastly, if all of this still doesn't work, then try using a different computer, if THAT doesn't work, we can assume that the universe just dun went and broke. ShadowStrikeAssassin
Its literally just trying to load Skyrim.esmI tried re-installing Skyrim and Creation Kit, but that hasn't worked at all. This is going to be another one of them annoying things isn't it? I remember having the same problem with New Vegas' GECK (Fallout 3's being the only one to work without fail) actually, but I can't remember how I fixed it. If I did, I would try whatever I did with the GECK and see if it would work with the Creation Kit.
ShadowStrikeAssassin
Oh, it may help if I say that I'm running Windows 8.1. Edit: I deleted d3d9.dll (not sure if that's important, considering my Fallout needed that to load). Now I'm receiving a warning message saying: Quote MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Lookup failed for ID: 0x00012584 from strings file: STRINGS/Skyrim_ENGLISH.DLSTRINGS "Yes to all" will disable all Warnings for this context." Anything I should do now, or have I completely f***ed my entire life over now? Pressing Yes to All seems to... Load. But I'm not sure if I completely screwed over or what. Is it supposed to do this? Edit 2: Okay, everything's fine now. I never thought deleting things would solve a problem, but... pyrotx
When Loading Skyrim.esm or many mods or other master files, the creation kit will almost always have little warnings with three options (yes, no, yes to all). Just click yes to all and everything should be fine. If you get an error message with two or three other options (abort, retry, etc.), then your screwed.
