Fixed dialogue scenes with increased party size

Hello all! I'll give some background on my request first, but if you want to skip to the business parts, I'll post it at the bottom. :P

 

I was recently playing a new game and got up to Redcliffe, before the undead siege. I suddenly had a thought - "If Redcliffe is being attacked at two fronts during this, why not have two groups?" Using the addparty console script, I added Leliana, Sten, and Morrigan to my party, then sent them down to the guard the Chantry with the rest of the militia. Because I'd set up their tactics scripts prior to this, they had no problems fighting on their own and giving the militia a much needed shot in the arm. Also considering that I was playing on Nightmare with Random Age difficulty set to 5, I felt my adding of additional party members was totally justified. :P

 

After the siege I had another thought - "Why not just bring my whole party along with me for the rest of my journey?" The idea was stirring and it was fun running around Redcliffe with my full entourage instead of 4 - however I ran into an issue when I spoke to Kaitlyn in the Chantry. I had Morrigan, Sten and Leliana along with me but not in my actual "selected" party, so when they decided to add their two cents to the conversation, the scene shifted to some weird under the floor view, there was a break in the dialogue when the voice actor would speak...just general weirdness. Once they were done talking however, the conversation continued as normal.

 

I was saddened, especially since I realized that the game was recognizing characters outside of the main party, but there was a technical difficulty in allowing their dialogue scene to properly display. This sucks! What makes things worse is the fact that I got full approval changes to my conversation choices, even from members that weren't in the full party, which makes me want this fixed even more. I'd love to be able to run around with my full party, even if I can only control 4(5 with Extra Dog slot) directly and have to rely on tactics for the rest. Just to be able to see full dialogue scenes and get full approval reactions from my decisions would be amazing.

 

In short:

 

* Requesting a dialogue scene fix for characters that exist outside of the main party which have been added using the zz_addparty console command. Presently the game will detect their presence and attempt to initiate the scene, but it will warp the scene under the floor and mute the intended dialogue. Once the character's dialogue scene passes, the scene continues as normal.

 

* Vim on the Dragon Age Wikia had some interesting things to say about issues revolving around exceeding the max party size using the addparty script, which can be read here. The good news is that at least according to him, the issues aren't intractable like the GUI(only having portraits for 4 of the party members, selectable hotbars for excess party members) issues. They can be addressed via the toolset and their solutions incorporated into a mod.
