Any way to get the off-hand weapon to behave mechanically like a Shiel

Background Info: I like the Arcane Warrior (I always love the mix Warrior/Spell caster in every RPG I play.) However I hate the Sword/Shield combo. Realisitically I will acknowledge it as the most efficent or best style for the majority in war time but I just hate the look & feel of the style in comp games. I don't really mind two-handed styles in most comp games or rpgs but DAO's two handers swing like giant baseball bats, they look clumsy. So finally we settle for the two weapon fighting style.

 

Now I like the look of this in the game, and it fits the graceful blend of magic & swords my elven arcane warrior would go for but mechanically it just isnt that good for an arcane warrior and goes away from the tank style of the specialisation.

 

What I want in the mod:

 

Create an sword/dagger item set where the off-hand weapon:-

 

1) Has the magic & item bonus's of a shield (Defence, Fatigue, missile deflection etc)

2) Does not do any damage (indeed does not have the stats to do damage)

2) Animates like a normal (still swinging away at the enemy but does not do damage)

 

Now I am willing to put some effort into learning how to mod DOA to make these items myself (might not exactly be suitable for a beginner but I believe in ambitious targets) but I do want some opinion before doing so as to whether this is at all possible first. I'd rather find out before going in as to whether it is impossible or not then spending weeks on it pulling my hair out.

 

Fluff: already have a story for the blades picked out based on the Dumat set

 

Andoral's Fang & Claw: The claw and fang of the Archdemon Andoral who was killed by the elven warden Garahel. In Garahel's honour the archdemon's fang and claw were remade in to the same manner of weapons that the elven warden used in life.
