ICERAY2000
I was just thinking about FO3 and how much fun it is to play when it's MODDED up, and I began to wonder why it is such a phenomenally outstanding game? Game of the decade so far. What is it about this game that makes it so great? What do you think it is? I'd be interested to hear your explanation. For me, one great aspect is the ability to 'get lost' in the game; I become so much a part of it, and it is so easy to move and interact, that I lose sense of real time and I feel as if I am 'actually' there. And, almost every MOD I add increases my enjoyment. Also, it feels like MY game, because of all the controls I have at hand. Also the re-playability is incredible! I'm on my sixth complete play-though and have had a good half-dozen other tries at it, and each time it is SO different! Yes the quests are the same, but the variances, the changes your dialog selections make, when and where other things happen, the random encounters - it's like nothing before, and I played Oblivion since it came out up until FO3, and FO3 is head and shoulders better. For instance, the very first time I played FO3, at the super mart I ran into a character trying to get control of a Mr.Gutsy - NEVER have seen this character again in over a dozen starts! So - what is it about FO3 that makes it such a superior experience? Thanks in advance for your comments. boktipset
a lot of text I think it's the game engine and the possibility for the community to mod.I have about 9 GB of mods in Oblivion right now and it's awesome. It has freedom and by that immersion. When I'm done with oblivion I'm moving on to a heavily modded F03 experience. If every game were just made for consoles (xbox etc) without the ability to mod...oh god..what a nightmare.
UncleRoe
One reason is because it's a great base game to mod from. Most likely more than half of the community has either created or downloaded mods for this game. It's graphically insane amazing which adds more to the custom mod eye-candy. On the opposite end though, it's an epic mark in gaming history as a vanilla game alone. I like the "getting lost" aspect of it to. A big wasteland to explore at will..be good or evil..with actuall good or evil outcomes that effect the entire game.. the character dialouge is sarcastic (like me) and funny as hell. the evil dialouge choices are clever ( i medically healed a guy in bigtown..bringing him out of a comatose state..only to say "I just wanted you to see the guy who's going to kill you",lol)
ICERAY2000
Thank you for your service. You make some very good points, and I agree with them. Also this game's ability to absorb and integrate MODS is the best ever; I have 145 MODS loaded and it works - it runs! Sure it will crash sometimes, especially approaching downtown DC, but reboot and go on. Amazing. I've found it to be the most involving game - you start playing you look up and it's Wednesday! Sometimes that where-the-hell-am-I feeling is all you need; a hunting rifle and some stimpaks and you're good to go. Also it is visually stunning and so finely detailed and varied in its environs that you literally can tell where you are by the general surroundings, because there is so much variety and seeming uniqueness to every location. I've taken a couple thousand screenshots, and some of them rival any photography you see, not because I'm a good photographer (OK, maybe I am a good photographer  ) but because of the amazing world Bethesda and the modders have created for us. A-mazing.By the way, do you use Sniper Zooming MOD? I recommend it for any sharpshooter.
