vfmikey
Hi guys! So. Yesterday I downloaded the game on steam. Without running it I downloaded some mods. Then, in the evening I tried to run it. Going through animations, to main menu, to intro smoothly and without any trouble. After intro (war, war never changes...) I'm getting CTD. First thing I did was getting rid of the mods, deleting everything through NMM, and then double checking if only the game itself was left. Did not help. I tried making changes in both INI files, as found online. Then I remembered the game used to have some problems with HDR setting - I turned them off, and set all the rest settings to absolute minimum. Run it in compatibility mode with XP. Nothing. Also, on the same PC Skyrim runs smoothly. Also on the same PC Fallout 3 and New Vegas used to run smoothly. Also, I just downloaded it, and it runs without a glitch on my W8.1 notebook, but, obviously, I'd prefer playing on my PC. Right now I deleted the game completely, and I'm going to download it again. My last resort is my graphic cards drivers, I tend to have some problems with games released after 2013 (ca), but it never before was the case with Bethesda games... Also, if that doesn't help I'm going to try downloading a save, but I guess that's not the problem. Nexus forums, you're my next to only hope! PSIt's to basic New Vegas, no DLCs whatsoever. PPSAfter couple tries at fixing the game I managed to disable starting a new game. How? I dunno. After clicking 'new game' there's a pop-up asking me whether to overwrite old autosave files. Normally clicking yes sends you to intro, I was being sent back to main menu. Edited December 29, 2014 by vfmikey
