wingedone1970
I point the patcher at C:Programfiles.... blah blah blah...win32 and it finds no exe file. Fact is, I find no file there either. Any help?
wghost81
You should point it to the game folder, as readme says. Like SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown for EU and SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\XCom-Enemy-Unknown\XEW for EW. wingedone1970
Ok, I cannot find steamlibrary. I have programfiles86x/steam/.... but I cannot find steamlibrary anywhere on my computer. This is for EU. NEVERMIND, all of a sudden the computer is going to show me files it would not show before. Amazing system. CHANGED AGAIN: When I use windows explorers (now) I can finally see the files under each folder. However, when I use the patcher and go to the same folder, it does not show the files and says incorrect path. Any ideas? wghost81
I strongly recommend to move steam library out of Program Files folder tree. See PatcherGUI readme for the explanation.
wingedone1970
ok to just copy and paste to c: or do I need to uninstall and reinstall?
wghost81
Read Steam instructions on how to move your SteamLibrary to another location. Or just reinstall XCOM alone to alternative location.
GL4DIUS
I am having a related issue. When I enter the location path to XCOM eu, (yes I moved it out of program files and into Games,) I get either "Incorrect file path" or conversly, "UPKpatcher failed. Any helpful hints other than, "ur mom" will be appreciated.
wghost81
First of all: what exactly are you trying to do? Second: what other mods (including TexMod) do you have installed?
GL4DIUS
Well, first of all , I am trying to get this mod installer to work. I does not work. It fails to update or ad mods to the game. Second, I have no other modding tools added other than two direct application patches that are basically drag and drop. A simple graphics mod with a drop in .ini, and a text mod that adds a hotkey for cash. I can't understand why the thing won't add a mod when the path to the game is correct.... wghost81
Thousands of other people can, so problem is most probably on your side. And right now you're not very informative. As a result I can't be very helpful. To understand how this "thing" works and why XCOM modding is not easy, please, read the readme (accessible by pressing F1 key while running PatcherGUI or directly inside a program folder). Pay close attention to section named "Reporting bugs and asking questions" while you're at it. Again: what exactly are you trying to do? What version of PatcherGUI do you have? How you have installed it? Which game version do you own? Where is program debug log and if there is none, how exactly error message looks like? PS We are talking about PatcherGUI here or not? Please, provide the full name of an utility and a link to Nexus download page. Because it's a second time I have to guess it by error messages and those aren't very clear.
