Why does Anora's morph not show up until later?

I have a savory Anora morph, but she is vanilla in the cutscenes early on. Her morph doesn't "take" until later.....I think maybe about the time I have to go on the rescue from Howe mission. I just have the .mor file in my override folder. Do I need to put it somewhere else too? Or are the initial cutscenes static and unchangeable?

Because the earlier scenes are bink movies that are not moddable. They are premade, and she will not be the only one that this occurs with. Any main character, Loghain, Zevran, Bann Teagan, amongst others in these scenes will show their vanilla version due to the type of file scene the game uses. Even at the coronation she and Alistair will revert to their vanilla versions due to the same issue. It's not something wrong with the mor file you have, just the type of scene the game plays for those particular scenes.

Until the "prerecorded" .bnk finishes, THEN you'll get your custom NPCs when you talk to them there in the Throne Room. Kinda' funny...

I know what you mean. The first time I played I was wondering why did he change from the armor I had on him to Cailan's, then right afterward change right back.. :teehee:

OK thanks, I thought I might have been doing something wrong as Morrigan uses her new morph always, even in the first cutscene in the wilds. Having Anora change back and forth could make sense as she looks uptight as hell with that bun hair-do during those meetings and then changes her hairstyle for later. I mainly just gave her some tasty hair of the same color and fixed her make-up.

Yeah, most of the scenes are not the bink movies, but there are a few. The very opening, the two battle scenes at Ostagar, the scene for Loghain adressing the banorn, the scene where Zevran is introduced by Arl Howe, the final battle scene with Riordan, and the coronation scene. There may be one or two that I missed, but those are the main ones. You aren't the first to wonder WTH, and I am sure you won't be the last either. ;)

One way to tell is to notice if the PC appears in it, or if there is a need for/point at which any of the participants acknowledge a choice the PC has made. In Morrigan's opening scene in the GW ruins, I know that her dialogue will change depending on the gender of the PC: "You! Women do not frighten as easily as men..." etc. (Not sure about race or class, maybe different lines depending on those too). So the scene is being "built on the fly", so to speak, and uses the in-game NPCs. The .bnks are totally canned.

Race affects it as well, same scene: "Elves are not frightened little boys..."

"You there, dwarf. You have little to fear from me." and that is for both genders. I also noticed the armies march to Denerim. Easy tell, none of the modded armors/robes/retints apply for the various characters.
