Ivan913
Basically, I just learned how to make items with the tool set (with the help of this guide: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1695) and now i'm wondering how I can add awakening items (meshes and tiers and textures and all that) to be used in the core game. Specifically what I wanna be able to do is make a tier 9 bow in the core game. Is that possible, and if so, how?
RustyBlade
You need Awakening in the OC along with the needed file copies to override and you need to copy materialobjects.erf, modelmeshdata.erf and modelhierarchies.erf into the override so you can see them in the toolset. Now if you don't want to mess with the toolset and would simply prefer to make your changes in-game, you don't need to copy the erf's but you will need The Winter Forge and/or The Upgrade Wand to get tier 8 and 9 in the base game. Ivan913
I have Awakening in the OC installed along with all the other necessary things to have it work. Which override folder do I copy materialobjects.erf, modelmeshdata.erf and modelhierarchies.erf? I'm fine with using the toolset, I've made a couple items before and I think I more or less understand how to do the simple things.
RustyBlade
You will find the files in your [Your Install Drive]:\Program Files\Dragon Age\packages\core_ep1\data folder and you copy them to your My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override folder. I would recommend putting them in a subfolder to keep things neat.
Ivan913
Ok, so I did all that, and while now I'm able to use the awakening meshes, I can't use the awakening item tiers. Any suggestions?
RustyBlade
If you have done all that you should be able to set Material Progression to Weapon (or Armor) Dragonebone/Tier 8/Tier 9 and Material Type to Weapon (or Armor), Tier 9 in the toolset. This should give you T8 or 9 when you runscript it into your game. If your character does not possess the required abilities to use the high level armor, you will not get the high tiers unless you set the Properties (Special) to "No Attribute Requirements." In game, using the upgrade wand, use settings 8-12 for Tier 8 and 13-15 for Tier 9.
Ivan913
Sorry, but I'm not getting the option to use that in the material progression. As far as I know I have awakening in the oc properly installed (every thing is working fine in game) and I made sure to copy those erf files into the override, is there anything else I could possibly be missing? RustyBlade
Try putting the contents of the zip in this post into override: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/223468-awakening-resources/page__view__findpost__p__1971398
Ivan913
Oddly enough, still didn't work. All I could notice that it actually did do was choose bow 7 as a model for the bow, but other than that, I still can't choose the material progression for tier 9. Maybe I'm copying it into the wrong place? I put the files in Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/packages/core/override.
RustyBlade
That is the right place; is it available in Material Type?
