tegthelord
So you've got loads of empty bottles hanging around, a dozen tins of turpentine, and some grimy old pre-war wear. Why not put the turps into the bottle, a bit of rag and throw it? Thinking: 1 Molotov needs: 1 bottle, 2 Turpentine, 1 pre-war wear (maybe you could use the pre-war wear three times before it's gone, you only need a bit of it afterall. Maybe every time it is used it takes 30% damage and when it reaches zero its gone or somesuch) Problem comes in the delivery. You light a molotov and you don't want to hold onto it for too long or it will explode. So you need to light it just before throwing it - taking 5 seconds or something. When it hits it does the same damage as one hit from a heavy incinerator. Just a thought. If it's been suggested before then sorry!
tegthelord
oh yeah, and making them should be something you can do straight out of the vault - you don't need a schematic, seriously? Maybe assign a hotkey to making them - as long as you have the raw materials, you can make them.
bben46
Find the schematic for a nuka-grenade if you want an exploding bottle type grenade. But, yeah, why should you need a schematic for this? BTW, Real world experience - Molotov cocktails do not explode, and can be held onto for quite a while before they get too hot to hold. What they do is when the bottle shatters against a hard object they spread burning liquid. Not good against soft objects as it will just lay there and burn for a few minutes, then the bottle usually cracks from heat and the liquid runs out and catches fire. When they do shatter on a hard object, you get an instant large fire that will penetrate into anything the liquid can run into. The fire will usually not last very long if there is nothing else to feed it.

Daecat
There's a molotov mod here: http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3690 It's great, but I wish we could have the option to turn all liquor bottles into these.
