sebmouth
Hello Nexus modder and user ! It's actualy posssible to play as a NPC look like. for exemple I am playing Leliana Cousland (thank's for the great sacred ashes mods : true armor, fox set and face morph, and others that allowing to do that) So, do you think it's possible to make a mod for allowing us to have a NPC's voice ? (Leliana for exemple) Not the dialogue of course, because the player's grey warden have not. Only the various comment in game (during combat, or give an action, for exemple). Nice idea is'nt it ?! danscott84
This should be doable. Leliana, as well as the other party members, do have soundsets for the combat sequences. I have never looked to see if they are seperate from dialogue, but should be possible. I know the violent SS for female human is the same voice actor that does Anora. Someone familiar with manipulating dialogue should be able to make this happen.
DarkeWolf
its actually very, very easy to do with a savegame edit in the toolset. Open your savegame in the toolset, and scroll down to savegame_playerchar and click the + next to itthen expand the line right below it that reads savegame_playerchar_char now scroll almost all the way down to the bottom of the list and right below where you changed your character's morph name, there is two lines that read savegame_player_soundsetsavegame_default_soundset where it reads ss_pc_xxxx_xxx set them BOTH for ss_leliana (or the character that you want your toon to use the voice sets for) and then click file/save in the top menu. ANd that'll get you to using Leli's voice or whichever one of them that you want to use.
sebmouth
very well Darkewolf, thanks. But, for the players, like me, who are ignorant to use correctly the toolset, have you another solution ?
DarkeWolf
Not really, not that I know of, no. :(There might be a method that I dont know of, but every attempt that I have tried, or seen others try... to extract the voices from the game have resulted in screwing up the sounds for the character who's voice they tried to pull. I mean, IF it were possible to do that, and then just change the filenames to ss_pc_xxx_xxxx then drop it into the override folder, that would be awesome. But... not being able to extract the files w/out damaging the core is what I dunno how to do. Edited October 1, 2010 by DarkeWolf
siramods
It is not unconceivable that there should be a GDA containing id-s for the generic character soundset.I'll look in to it this weekend.
Thandal
Had no problem making the changes to the .das that DW described. Chose Sigrun's "ss" for my DNF Rogue! But it was well after midnight last night, and in my few minutes of running around the Tower after having already completed the "Broken Circle" and "Watchguard of the Reaching", I couldn't trigger any vocalaztions by my PC! Will have to walk through "Summoning Sciences" (which I was going to save for when I came back to the Circle to check on Dagna) when I get a chance this evening. Will report back on results. ;)
siramods
there is no need to alter .das files. It is done and published. And its fun: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1763
