KimberJ
So in Fable III as you play through, there is a treasury room that shows your gold an it gets higher an higher. You know reflecting the actual amount in realism without the game killing effect of having 237,000 gold coin clutter items in a room. Really though I'm asking for gold storage for the yarls. I'll tell you what happened. I played Skyrim for a while in vanilla when it came out. Then I bought the legendary edition to play it a second time, cause it sounded so cool on the box, but you know it had the DLC too, yay. Anyway this time was much later so I played Skyrim again in vanilla up to level 40, but I didn't go very far into the quests. Some time went by an I didn't play Skyrim so I decided to make a modded build.I learned how to make all kinds of mods during the Fallout 3 an New Vegas era. Then Skyrim came out an none of the community tools were made yet, so it was dumb to try to keep learning. Then I kind of injured my arm making armors an clothing in blender an all the data entry edits hurt it too. So I changed the workspace, an just played games for a while. It hurt for a long time an I couldn't play very well. Eventually I recovered an my arm feels better now. I think it was the nerve in the wrist, but the whole dang arm hurt. Anyway, I would totally start making stuff for Skyrim, but it will take a while to get started again. So I'll tell the story of how yarls need gold story eventually I guess. XDI was downloading the fav picks an links from the top 100 non-adult on the Nexus. It took forever. Then to get a stable build that would work with around 107 mods took 4 tries. It failed 3 times, an I had to start over from scratch. Kept all the downloads though, so it was just deleting some, an getting the install order an load order right. Cause LOOT didn't work at all, the very cause of one of the failures. But you know LOOT is kind of more advanced than it's described. Any way I put a few mods in just to play with while the mods were downloading. I ended up using the random start an it was near Falkreath, but I was going there anyway after the vanilla start to hang out. You know an level an run around in the woods there.*story*I got to Falkreath an one of the guards mistook me for a criminal, cause he's corrupt I guess. It was a low fine, but I decided to RP it. Then I went to the jail an console command the lock to open the door, an went in, cause I didn't wana change clothing. I was just playing around with the idea cause that guard was totally corupt, I didn't break any laws, I just started the game. Anyway I got out soon playing along with the RP side of it an thinking about things. Then I went out an was fighting some of the higher level creatures an stuff around Falkreath. An I got the magic beast to get stuck on a porch of one of the buildings in Falkreath, an I tried to expoit it by not killing it an just hitting it an letting it regen trying to level up. Later, I got bored so I attacked all the guards an tried to start a big ruckus. I did this a few times an the last time I just set a guard on fire because I felt being a jerk.Pretty much I ended up creating such a ruckus that I figured the yarl would want to have me killed, so cause I had 224,394 gold saved up from the legacy of the character, as it's the same from the first an second time I played Skyrim. Which pretty much this time was just taking the backup of the last savegame at level 40 an selling everything an using a magic spell to start over, hence how the character got to Falkreath, but you know not really developed anymore as a character, cause the last one kind of reached endgame before getting into the whole story part, from crafting an money an raiding. Anyway, the new version, which was a jerk in Falkreath, had tons of gold.So I figured I would give the gold to the yarl so he wouldn't kill me. But it was more of a loan to buy trustee status in the jail, so I could be let out of the jail sometimes to work or get food stuff for iNeed. But there were many times that the guards wouldn't let me out. The guards would always say something when they walk up to the jail cell door. Sometimes the yarl would call for me an I would be let out just to go see what he wanted. This turned into mining gold ore out in the woods. But it was infinite mining, so I got like 400 or so ingots, *burp*. Then went to the yarl an dropped all of the ingots on the ground, which was awesome cause SkyUI allowed it to drop quickly via ask quantity at, an there was this huge circle of gold ingots, presented to the yar.I was thrown back into jail, an would sneak in front of the yarl as I left, kind of like bowing, just RP'ing along with the whole thing. In the cell I must have figured all the ingots got on the yarls nerves cause it's messy an they are kind of useless in raw form like that. So he called me back, an said, make something out of it. Which would have been stuff to sell to vendors, but then I thought it's kind of a Imperial settlement an they make the gold coins, so heh, let's just make the coins, an that led to a mod that allows that. Though I added a separate craft where there was no iron in the coin to make it a counterfeit. You know 100 coins pure or 200 at a 50% addition of iron in the core. I decided to make the pure gold coins which meant less coins, but it's useless to have counterfits if you can't get caught exchanging it.So then with the coins, I spent 150,000 in investments in Falkreath with banks of skyrim, then picked 3 100 day investments, an was thrown back into the jail. After that I just set the timescale to like 14400 or something ridiculous, which crashed inside, but I tried it outside an calculated how much time it would take to mature the investments, although by the timer I set, the mod actually paid off before that, prolly because ridiculous timescale do ridiculous things to the game, lol. Standing outside an watching the weather an day/night change rapidly was fun though. Anyway the total ended up being over 600,000 an I figured since I didn't kill anyone that I could get my legacy gold back an move on. Though I've been thinking of robbing the yarl of Falkreath now.So the yarl of falkreath has a very empty space around him, an that's kind of the idea, he had around 400,000 in gold from the whole coin making/investment prison sentence. But the idea of displaying gold for whatever reason came to mind, also because of the trend to add weight to gold, making it harder to carry lots of it. There are gold piles, but not very realistic, an there's a mod that will place a pile of 100 gold, but it's not a realistic pile, an 100 gold is not very much. You know as good as the whole XP or other numbers are good for the leveling aspect of games. You know, representations of progression or accomplishment. I thought a visual representation of that would be cool an could work as well as in Fable III or going along with the whole thing we do as players of acquiring massive amounts of gold.*ideas?*The only thing that came to my mind was barrels that would be separate meshes, replaced as gold requirements were met or activated to store gold. You know that you can look inside an see a 2D with 3D on top illusion that the gold inside was there an getting larger with more activations, like filling the barrel, done via popping new meshes in to replace the barrel. That or just a huge pile that is hidden below the floor an as you deposit the pile is moved up an up an up. In Fable III it was a series of meshes that were custom built for the room. So the main pile but the mess of it too, like some over here an there, an eventually being a mountain that the player could climb on. Or for example shoot a dozen gold coins into the air with a spell upon. Make it rain. *edit* Proof reading sucks Edited January 3, 2015 by KimberJ
kiskoller
There is a mod which gives you the ability to create gold pileshttp://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51163/? The issue is that it is hard to create bigger piles of gold. At one playthrough after an hour of arragements I did manage to shove all the gold into the corner where my safe was. It was really hard to achieve though. Then I tossed some gems, gold ingots, jewelry on top and it looked like a treasury.
KimberJ
Maybe just a spell that will shoot out gold coins like projectiles, an let havoc sort it out. :D
