NexusFox
How to run OBSE with Steam Oblivion 1) Go to http://obse.silverlock.org/ and download the latest stable version of OBSE - v18. It is the first link on the page: OBSE v18 2) Extract all the files in the OBSE.zip archive you have just downloaded into your Oblivion folder. NOTE: this is NOT your Oblivion/Data folder. It is you Oblivion folder that contains the OblivionLauncher.exe and Oblivion.exe files. 3) Go to Steam OBSE and extract that obse_loader.exe OVER THE TOP of the one you just installed into you Oblivion folder. You are replacing the original obse_loader with this one. 4) Open up steam. 5) Right click your Oblivion game link and go to Properties - make sure to have Steam Community ENABLED. 6) Run Oblivion through STEAM. Do NOT run Oblivion through the obse_loader. 7) Have fun! I highly recommend using OBMM to manage your mods and BOSS to sort out your load order. If you have not installed OBMM and used BOSS to sort out your currently installed mods first please don't post here with problems. This link Prevent Crashes is a good guide for Windows 7 / Vista users and anyone playing Oblivion with mods installed.
bben46
I recommend putting this into the articles section, where it can be linked to easily. Just posting in the forum will cause it to pushed down into obscurity. I have flagged it for possible pinning - If we pin every item that initially looks good, we would soon have several pages of pinned topics before you get to the new topics. If I get enough good comments it may get pinned. Note: very few people bother to look in either the pinned topics or the articles when they have a problem - they make a new post instead.
