melkormgc
I have no idea when it happened or what caused it.. and as an archer-character I am really annoyed. Basically, whenever I shoot arrows towards the side of a wooden object the arrows hit the air as if the wooden object is occupying a greater volume that it seems like. I was wondering if anyone out there may have an idea why this is happening. I even considered to reinstall the game but I already modified it so much and I am afraid I will not be able to replicate it and my saves won't work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!! http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/3787/oblivion201010042231028.gif Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/9596/oblivion201010042231053.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/2126/oblivion201010042231153.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/8109/oblivion201010042232166.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9798/oblivion201010042232456.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/2637/oblivion201010042232579.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/7207/oblivion201010042233064.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us
KaotikKreator
Alright... this isn't truly a bug (imho), it happens to me nearly every time I try to shoot at someone who's behind partial cover. Sometimes, the collision detection works like that.. it seems to me that it's hard-coded that way, and probably waayy more trouble than it's worth to get it fixed. To put it more simply, there's a rectangular prism that contains the tree you see on-screen. What happens, is the collision detection code sees the whole box as the tree, so we end up with arrows in mid-air. This is true for literally every object, so you could, in theory, have your arrows bouncing off of the air just above fences and stuff like that. My simple solution to this problem: wait about ten in-game minutes, and the target moves to a more advantageous spot away from the imposing tree. Hope this helps! Dear KaotikKreator, Thanks so much for your reply. I decided to ignore it and not I do not even notice it. But it was so frustrating when I first realized that problem! I can't believe how I never noticed it before. I thought some mod or texture pack I installed caused it and I was really upset. Thanks again! All the best!
