Corpulus Vinius incorporeal and invisible

I have encountered a very strange bug that has made Corpulus Vinius invisible. I first believed he had gone out, but the tavern was full of patrons so it made no sense. I waited hours but he still didn't come. So, I decided to use the console to see what happened to him. I teleported right to his spot in the Winking Skeever bar, and could walk right over his supposed position. I moved him to my house, and teleported to him again, same thing.

Instead of giving you a full mod list, I will start with a question: what sort of conflict could cause this? I believe this is a much easier clue to the answer than a long and convoluted list.

Here are the things I have tried so far:

Teleport to him: Teleports me to his usual spot behind the bar. Corpulus nowhere to be seen.

Sit on a bar stool (usually opens dialogue): Nothing happens.

Summon Corpulus to another area: Still invisible and incorporeal. Teleporting to him results in teleporting to the spot I summoned him to.

Remove mods installed after bug was first encountered: No effect.

Noclip mode (I believed that maybe his model had spawned upside down or something): Still nowhere to be seen. It would appear he is still in his usual spot but lacking a model and with it, collision and even script.

  • 1 year later...

I encountered the same bug as you, yet i dont know solution, command teleports me to his position behind the bar, but he is not here, i cant see him neither talk to him.

Also when i tried to kill him by command, so his son Sorex could take his place as innkeeper creepy thing happened. Instead of Corpulus dies Lissete the bard and Sorex starts to flee....it's weird.

Oh and I use 85 mods but this is only bug I met so far, that i cant solve via console commands....not game breaking but bit frustrating.

Also perhaps it could be something to do with AI. As you've probably noticed, if an NPC gets blocked by something, he will sort of teleport to where he needs to go, but if something were to interfere with this, perhaps he'd just disappear and not reappear. As a last ditch effort you could try alt+tab to your desktop and then come back and see if he's reappeared, and if that doesn't work, which why would it Bethesda?...then maybe find his code and disable/enable him.
