Neck Seams and Texture Mods

The neck seam is there because of the facegen textures the game uses to allow you to customize the character's skin. There's two easy ways around it.

One is this mod.

The other is going into your oblivion.ini file and shutting it off altogether by going to ballowfacegentextures=1 and setting it to 0. Note that this will change the skintone of every character in the game to exactly what the base textures are like, so be ready to put it back if your character has a unique skintone.

Hnngg, that's what I get for responding directly from the front page of the Nexus.

I'm not sure if there's a similar line in Fallout3's .ini file, since I'm typing from a laptop right now.

A lot of what I said goes both ways: the texture issue is still often caused due to facegen textures. See, the textures themselves don't inherently cause any seam other than the one that connects the neck to the body, and that's not going anywhere. The showracemenu console command still works as well, which can give you access to your character's face for proper tweaking. The best method for cleaning it may just be playing with this feature for a while.

The closest thing to a neck seam concealer is one of the eight million slave collar mods out there.

Good luck!
