Does anyone know how to make trees and shrubbery not pop into your vision as you run throughout the world? would love to have it rendered far out of my general view. really really kills the immersion to have trees spawn all at once when i walk into a new cell.

Try RAEVWD (Really Almost Everything Visible When Distant), and TES4LODGen (which automatically generates level of detail info for any mod).

sigh.... i have another thread on here complaining about how that mod doesn't do anything when i use it. eventually the conversation comes to an end when someone notes that it doesn't actually stop things from spawning into your vision...........if you could confirm that when used correctly this mod actually makes grass and trees visible at incredible distance then please do.

It does seem to make a difference on my machine. However, mine isn't all that powerful.

In addition to installing RAEVWD, however, you would need to tweak your graphics settings so that everything is at its maximum. That won't prevent things from popping into view, but they'll pop into view so far from your character that you may never notice it.

If that STILL isn't good enough, then you can modify your Oblivion.ini settings directly. For example, increasing the uGridDistantCount and uGridDistantTreeRange to, say, 50 would make a big difference, especially on trees.

If you use streamline (if your computer is high end, Why?) disable it, reset all of your graphics sliders to max and test. Then re-enable Streamline and test again - now look at where your graphics sliders are.

Also, go here for help in tweaking the game, your video card and your system.

Actually, if you configure Streamline properly with a high end machine in mind, then you won't have this problem at all.

I recently started using Streamline, but only for two things: Streampurge, and Streamsight. Unless you're using a quality SSD hard drive, then chances are you've still got some noticeable stuttering while the game is loading new content as you move through the world. Streampurge has nearly eliminated this for me, and made traveling long distances much smoother. I also like to use Streamsight on an extremely low setting, which creates just a very thin mist of fog very far off in the distance, something that I think enhances the overall look of distant scenery.

Everything else is disabled, including Streamsmooth and Streamsave. The FPS smoothing is what plays around with your graphical settings.
