Dingenskirchen
I'm wondering that there so many great and beautiful armors to find, but in most cases ther'e no distant meshes, what meens that it's looking totally srewed up,if one of your companions wear it.Is it so difficult to create them? I mean, what does it take to create them? No offens meant,it's just a question, why not and how to make them.
WastelandAssassin
it's not that it's difficult to make them (at least not as far as i know), but it is a matter of game performancebecause if the armor would look good even from a distance, that weights a lot more on the computer, so it could slow your gamebut there are mods that have such things (sorry, forgot the right term)
Dingenskirchen
Well, and how do i add them? What program do i need? or is just a renamed file of it needed like in oblivion?
WastelandAssassin
i can't quite remember, but i'll try to search it, see if i remember the right term, and tell you how to do itit might take me some time, but i'll do my best to help you

WastelandAssassin
i am sorry, but after searching, i couldn't find anything of valuei think that the term i was looking for is really LOD meshes and textures, but i don't know how to make such thingsi'll have another look, maybe something will come up
InBleedingRapture
You can do it in 3DSMax. It's bit... complicated, but essentially the game uses a simplified skeleton for distant meshes. Because of this, if modders haven't assigned that skeleton to their LoD meshes, the model will attach to different nodes than it should. That's what makes characters look like they came out of an Escher painting :)
Dingenskirchen
Ah,that sounds logic. Won't help me,cause i don't know a thing 'bout 3DSMax, but finally i will not die stupid.Thank ya guys. Hmm,one question remains. If i can add a skeleton, will this affect also the animations, like idle, walking and running?I'm just asking cause of this weird pose of the ME2 Blood Dragon Armor. Great armor, but weird pose. WastelandAssassin
i'm not sure about Dragon Age, but i know that you can create a skeleton for Oblivion and Fallout, and it changes all animations, due to new data (like it allows to make bouncing breasts and such)although, if you don't mess with existing bones, just add ones, it shouldn't have a negative effect still, i would recommend that you make a back-up of the original skeleton, just in case, so that if something go wrong, you didn't screw the game ereversibly :)
